Four Brothers starring Mark Wahlburg, Tyrese Gibson, Andre Benjamin and Garrett Hudland.
When I tell you that I watch this movie just about everyday and refuse to get tired of it, it is an understatement. My husband is starting to wonder if something is wrong with me.
If you don't want to know what it is about, STOP NOW. Cause I'm getting ready to give a brief description:
Four adopted brothers come home for the funeral of their mother when it seems she is randomly killed in a convenience store robbery. Through their own rough detective work (pouring gas on a punk kid while holding a cigarette nearby to get him to talk, threatening to leave a man with a broken knee laying on the ground in a snowstorm) they find out that their mother was murdered and it ties in with a business deal that one of the brothers had but fell through because of a dirty politician with ties to the local "guy who is running the neighborhood that wanted a piece of the business deal."
It has plenty of action and drama, comedy and it is nice to see the brothers doing things that brothers do (playing hockey together, waiting to eat dinner and one of the brothers starts flinging those little yellow things that used to be in the middle of records at two of the other brothers.)
Sometimes when I watch a movie I try and think about who else could have been cast in a role that would have been better. So far, I haven't been able to come up with anyone for these roles. Mark Wahlburg plays Bobby Mercer, who I am not sure is the oldest but he is the leader of the pack. He's rough, rude and gives not a damn. Tyrese is his right hand man, Angel Mercer, down for whatever if Bobby says so but they get into it every once in a while. Dre plays the married with kids brother, Jeremiah, who is trying to do the right things and Garrett Hundland plays Jack Mercer, who you can tell idolizes Bobby.
SPOILER ALERT BELOW:
Now, one of the brothers dies toward the end of the movie and this leads to a climatic scene where one of the other brothers fights the guy that owns the neighborhood. As mentioned previously in one of my posts, the brother walking to tap that ass is ridiculously hot.
If you have Netflix, add Four Brothers to your list. You will not be disappointed.
