Really Fantasia? This is how its gonna go down? Really?

Earlier this week, American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino, who has been involved with a person named Antoine Cook, allegeedly took an overdose of aspirin in a failed suicide attempt. This person named Antoine Cook is married and his wife filed for divorce and named Fantasia as one of the reasons for the divorce. I look online yesterday, the day after she is released from the hospital and her and Mr. Cook are SHOOTING SCENES FOR HER REALITY SHOW. Huh?

Another big wedding weekend!

T.I. and Tiny, Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz, Chelsea Clinton and DJ Jazzy Jeff all got married this weekend. Congratulations to the happy couples!

We get it. There are very few sports figures today that could commandeer the airwaves as you have the past few days. The culmination was a press conference last night to announce that you are going to the Miami Heat. Snaps to you for wanting to make a change and trying to win a championship with the oh-so-hot D. Wade but was all this really necessary? I have never seen such an overhyped amount of attention on one man who is just announcing what sports team he is going to play for. I am typically a vocal non-fan of one Mr. Kobe Bean Bryant and don't really mention his name but I am sure as all this was going on he was somewhere having dinner and counting his rings. I'm just sayin'...

Lindsey Lohan sentenced to 90 days in prison...

Really? 90 days? After all of the times that this chick has been busted and caught that you are giving her 90 days?? And word is that she will probably only do 25%, which is around 23 days. Ridiculous. And, she had a subtle message to the judge painted on her fingernails. Did you catch that? Had "F*** U" painted on her middle finger. And when she gets out and goes to her rehab, going to fall right back into her bad habits..

The BET Awards last night...

It's been a minute since I have watched an entire awards show. Decided to catch the BET Awards last night and was pleasantly surprised. I think the two biggest "Whattttttttttt?'s of the night was the Michael Jackson tribute by Chris Brown and the appearance of one Mr. Eldra DeBarge. With the exception of Prince looking at the people singing his songs like "Who are these people?" and Dirty Money's smoke machine being a little overactive, it was a pretty good show and certainly made up for some of the messes that they have done in the past. Grade from me - B.

Friday is the one year anniversary of the deaths of Micheal Jackson and Farrah Fawcett...

This "Bachelor" break-up mess is killin' me...

OK...now I know alot of people watch The Bachelor...I happen to not be one of them. But although I am not an avid watcher, I know what is going on because of all of my entertainment mags/entertainment websites/tv stuff. Why are people treating the breakup of Vienna and Jake (got the names right?) like it's an international tragedy? Why am I seeing this story on websites next to stories about the BP oil debacle? I have four words for that HI LAR RI OUS..It's a reality show folks...move on please...thank you...

Rue McClanahan, the incredible actress probably best known as Blanch Deveraux on "The Golden Girls" passed away. Bea Author passed away last year and Estelle Getty in 2008. RIP ladies...loved that show...

Alicia Keys "Unthinkable' video...

OK...watched this video and I cannot for the life of me figure out why Chad Michael Murray was chosen to be the 'love interest' in the video. Really, Alicia? Was CMM really the best that you could do??? Was Paul Walker or some other random blond actor not available?

Latest celebrities going on to glory...

Gary Coleman passed away last Friday. I got so many phone calls/texts messages asking if I had heard the news. He had been around since I was little so its like you knew him. But legal and medical problems had caused him to have such a troubled life.

Dennis Hopper passed away on Saturday. Probably most famous for his rebel roles with Peter Fonda, I remember him best as the criminal from Speed and the assistant basketball coach from Hoosiers.

Last but certainly not least, Ollie Woodson, the lead singer of the mighty, mighty Temptations passed away.

The new A-Team movie...yesssssss!

John Forsythe passed away yesterday..

Now that's ol' skool..he played Blake Carrington on the the unsurpassed nighttime soap opera "Dynasty" and he was the voice of Charlie on "Charlie's Angels". RIP Mr. Forsythe..

I miss the comedy of Robin Harris..

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the death of comedian Robin Harris. Since some of you younguns probably have no idea who I am talking about, he played Kid's father in the first House Party movie, played one of the gangsters in Harlem Nights and was famous for his Bebe's Kids comedy routine.

Two recent ol' school deaths....

Just read online that Fess Parker, the original Davy Crockett, died earlier today at the age of 85. Not trying to be funny but I would have thought that he already passed away. And Peter Graves, the white haired super agent from Mission:Impossible, died a few days ago. Interesting fact - he was the younger brother of James Arness, who played Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke.

As an entertainment trivia chick, I make it my business to know stuff like that. But that one caught me off guard.
