TMZ has confirmed that a judge issued a bench warrant for singer R. Kelly -- because he did not show for a court hearing today in Chicago.

We're told Kelly's tour bus was delayed in Utah, so he was a no show. The judge in his child pornography case issued the warrant but won't enforce it just yet. But if R. Kelly doesn't show up tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM, the judge will tell the fuzz to arrest his butt. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Cook County prosecutors pressed the judge, noting he had already shown considerable leeway in letting Kelly travel outside Illinois.

"This is just an abuse of the process. It's disrespectful of your honor," said Assistant State's Attorney Shauna Bolicker. [source]

Britney Spears sister IS PREGNANT?

You know, I feel a little bad for this family. I think things started off normally for them as a family and then Britney just blew up and was the most popular thing in the world. I think Justin Timberlake was a very calming influence on her and I also think that she has probably never gotten over that relationship. Word on the street was she was messing around with the choreographer Wade Robson. And do you notice how he was the hot boy for a minute and ever since things ended with Justin and Britney that you don't hear about him anymore. Coincidence?? Anyway, word hit today that her 16 year old sister has gotten pregnant by her 19 year old boyfriend of a year. Shouldn't he be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor? She is 16. Apparently a 6 page article in OK will be coming out tomorrow where they talk to her and her mom. This family needs an intervention and quickly.

Ike Turner passed away today

Tina Turner issued a straight to the point press release that basically said "I am aware that Ike has died and I haven't spoken to him in 35 years. There will be no more comments." Nuff said..

Mike Vick was just sentenced to 23 months in prison.

Pimp C Found Dead in Hotel Room

Pimp C, one-half of the veteran Houston rap group UGK, was found dead in an upscale hotel on Tuesday. "It is with great regret that I must confirm that Chad Butler aka Pimp C, one half of the legendary UGK, was in fact discovered dead this morning," his publicist, Nancy Byron, said in a statement. "Manager Rick Martin is asking that everyone please respect his family and those close to him at this time and refrain from rumors and innuendo." Pimp C and partner Bun B were pioneers of Southern rap, and hit the mainstream with their cameo on Jay-Z's hit "Big Pimpin'."

The details are starting to emerge in the Sean Taylor killing and story gets more sordid by the day. Apparently one of the killers is the cousin of the boyfriend of Sean's half-sister Sasha Johnson.

The accused are the confessed shooter, 17-year-old Eric Rivera, 17-year-old Jason Mitchell, 18-year-old Charles Wardlow, and 20-year-old Venjah Hunte. Sean and his half sister Sahsa did not grow up together, but after he made it to the NFL, he bought his mother a $900,000 house and invited Shasha and his half brother to come live in it. Fast forward, Sasha has a party for her 21rst birthday at Sean's house Thanksgiving weekend and invited her longtime boyfriend Christopher Wardlow, cousin of suspect Rivera Wardlow, who brought suspect Jason Mitchell, who had cut grass for Sean in the past.

According to reports, the shooting resulted from a burglary gone bad because the killers did not expect Sean to be home and shot him in the upper thigh after he surprised them at his bedroom door. The bullet damaged the femoral artery in Sean's leg, causing significant blood loss. Sean never regained consciousness and died a little more than 24 hours later.

Sean was buried today. What a sad story.

Evel Knievel passed away today...

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel's death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.

Knievel had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills.

Immortalized in the Washington's Smithsonian Institution as "America's Legendary Daredevil," Knievel was best known for a failed 1974 attempt to jump Snake River Canyon on a rocket-powered cycle and a spectacular crash at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. He suffered nearly 40 broken bones before he retired in 1980.

Although he dropped off the pop culture radar in the '80s, Knievel always had fans and enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. In later years he still made a good living selling his autographs and endorsing products. Thousands came to Butte, Mont., every year as his legend was celebrated during the "Evel Knievel Days" festival.

"They started out watching me bust my ass, and I became part of their lives," Knievel said. "People wanted to associate with a winner, not a loser. They wanted to associate with someone who kept trying to be a winner."

His death came just two days after it was announced that he and rapper Kanye West had settled a federal lawsuit over the use of Knievel's trademarked image in a popular West music video.

Rodney King got shot

RIALTO, California (CNN) -- Rodney King, whose 1991 police beating sparked widespread rioting in Los Angeles and other U.S. cities, was recovering Thursday after being slightly wounded by gunfire.

Rialto, California, Police Department Sgt. Don Lewis said King was grazed on his face, arms, back and torso. The wounds were superficial. A shotgun was believed to have been the weapon used.

Lewis said that after King was shot Wednesday night, he rode his bicycle from San Bernardino to his home in Rialto, before calling police about 11:40 p.m.

Information on possible suspects or the hospital where King was treated were not immediately available.

Amateur video captured King's beating after Los Angeles police officers stopped him for speeding March 3, 1991. Police beat King repeatedly, delivering 56 baton blows and six kicks -- causing skull fractures, and brain and kidney damage.

Four officers were charged with assault with a deadly weapon and excessive use of force but were acquitted of state charges on April 29, 1992.

The three days of rioting that followed left 55 people dead and 2,000 injured. There were 12,000 arrests and about $1 billion in property damage in Los Angeles.

Two of the officers, Sgt. Stacey Koon and officer Laurence Powell, were later convicted of federal civil rights violations.

Since then, King has had a handful of run-ins with the law, including a guilty plea in 2004 to driving under the influence of a controlled substance and reckless driving

I see the Hulk's wife has filed for divorce...

Apparently Linda is out spending $$$ like they are cranking it out in the basement. Supposedly a reporter called the Hulk on Friday to ask him about it and the Hulk was not aware, although she had filed on Tuesday. I do watch their show sometimes but you can tell that Linda, Brooke and Nick are enjoying this "celebrity" thing a little too much although they are not really famous for anything.

Word on them streets is Ursh and Tameka welcomed their new baby boy last night. No direct confirmation yet but People.com is reporting it and they are usually reliable. Congrats...

Shayla Stevens, the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader who was allegedly assaulted by Da Brat earlier this month, has hired prominent attorneys Willie Gary and CK Hoffler and their firm, Gary, Williams, Finney, Lewis, Watson and Sperando P.L.

Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris, allegedly struck Stevens with a 1.7 liter bottle of rum during a shoving match in the club in the early hours of November 1. According to Gary, Stevens has suffered permanent injuries to her face, as well as possible neurological damage. Additionally, she will miss upcoming games as cheerleader for the Falcons, as well as a scheduled role on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne sitcom. Gary, who is nicknamed “The Giant Killer” for his judgments against corporations, is noted for winning a $240 million jury verdict against Walt Disney, for stealing his clients idea for a theme park.

He also claims that the owners of Club 72, hesitated to contact police due to the negative publicity the assault would cause. A manager who witnessed the assault allegedly failed to help Stevens seek proper medical attention and she was eventually taken to the hospital by a family member. Gary also said that prior to the assault, club owners and security had the opportunity to remove Da Brat from Club 72, but failed to do so. Da Brat was charged with aggravated assault. She was released on $50,000 bond as a result of the incident.

Michael Jordan’s divorce is set to cost him $168 million. Yes, you did read that correctly, Michael Jordan will be paying his ex wife, Juanita Vanoy, $168 million dollars to finalize the divorce.

In an interview that aired Friday on NBC’s “Today Show” Michael spoke about the divorce and his kids:

His eldest son, Jeff, who plays collegiate ball at the University of Illinois in Urbana, said the breakup was “hard for all of us” — including his younger brother Marcus and sister Jasmine.
His mom and I were on the same page when it came to that — our kids came first. We still communicate each and every day. Nothing’s being done with the kids that we don’t communicate. And we’re very good friends actually. And they can sense that,” said Jordan, who led the Chicago Bulls to six championships.

Jordan, in his first comments about the divorce, said he and his ex-wife were open with their children about their marital difficulties — a period he called “a trying and negative time.”

Nick Hogan or Bollea or whatever his name has turned himself in this morning.

Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick, was arrested in Tampa on Wednesday in connection to the August car crash that left his good friend, John Graziano, with permanent brain damage.

Nick, who has multiple traffic violations on his record, has been slapped with felony charges of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury.
This case is going to court.

I am amazed at the Hulkster and his family's denial that there is not a really big issue when you have an underage, alcohol drinking, speed freak racing, thinks he is above the law son who brags that he was stopped three times and was not given a ticket until the third stop. They are constantly mentioning how the other kid was not wearing a seatbelt. Please place the blame directly on your son's shoulders, that is where it belongs.

Female rapper Da Brat was arrested on felony aggravated assault charges early this morning after allegedly hitting a woman in the face with a bottle at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72 club in Atlanta. According to Atlanta’s WSBTV Channel 2, the altercation started out as a verbal disagreement but soon escalated to a shoving match. Witnesses say that the rapper then grabbed a bottle of rum and hit the victim, a waitress at the club, in the face with it. The unidentified woman was hospitalized with cuts on her face and above her eye. Da Brat was taken to the Dekalb County Jail and is believed to still be in custody.

I just read that Hollywood legend Robert Goulet passed away today...

He was an award winning singer and actor. But most of you probably know him from Will Ferrell's spoof of him on Saturday Night Live or appearing in the Emerald Nuts commercials when he messes with people's desks. I love that commercial, especially when he is sneaking away on the ceiling of the office. R.I.P., Mr. Goulet.

Georgia’s Supreme Court on Friday ordered the release of a young man who has been imprisoned for more than two years for having consensual oral sex with another teenager.

The court ruled 4-3 that Genarlow Wilson’s 10-year sentence was cruel and unusual punishment.

Wilson, 21, was convicted of aggravated child molestation following a 2003 New Year’s Eve party at a Douglas County hotel room where he was videotaped having oral sex with a 15-year-old girl. He was 17 at the time.

They should know better than that..

Film target of sabotage opening weekend

Even before Why Did I Get Married opened, Tyler Perry talked candidly about his struggle to get his film released in a number of theatres comparable to his mainstream counterparts and other apparent attempts to undermine its success on its opening weekend.I went to see the film on Sunday night at my regular theatre (Wehrenberg’s Jamestown 14 Cine) and had an interesting experience.

When my ticket was torn, the man working the door said, “We Own The Night is in auditorium three.” I told him that I didn’t buy a ticket to We Own the Night, but to Why Did I Get Married. He said, “It’s fine, just go on in.”After informing him that I didn’t want another film to get credit for Tyler Perry’s sale, he said, “Fair enough, wait here” and brought back a stub from Why Did I get Married.

When I arrived in the theatre, a woman who asked not to be identified said, “Girl, make sure that your ticket says ‘Tyler Perry’ because mine said We Own Night. My friend said that it happened to her yesterday. They been tryin’ to be shady all weekend.” I was not the only one. Neither was she. There was a bit of commotion as people looked at their tickets and, sure enough, their tickets didn’t say what they thought it said. The concerned patron who attempted to school me on the error went to the manager and he said that it was a mistake. “Well, I ain’t never seen them make this kind of mistake before,” the woman said. In the 20 years I had been patronizing the Jamestown 14 Cine, neither had I. A bold, matter-of-fact woman, she went to the manager and insisted that he make an announcement in the theater. His message regarding the cause of the “mix-up” was unclear, but he told the audience that they were welcome to come to the box office and get their ticket changed. But when the film was over, the box office was closed.By the time the office opened Monday, someone had already called the American to voice concerns regarding a similar incident at the same theatre.Quinton Pittman, an attendant of The Wehrenberg theatre in St. Charles, conveyed his disdain via e-mail.

“I took my lady to see Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married yesterday in St. Charles at the Wehrenberg Theatre on 1st Capitol. I glanced at my ticket stubs. Why was I sold tickets to Resident Evil”? Pittman wrote. He said that he talked with the usher and management and decided to contact Werhrenberg Offices.“To add further insult to this injury, when I called the home office of Wehrenberg Theatres to complain, I was directed to Linda Curbell (Guest Services) who told me, ‘The only way you're going to get ticket stubs to that movie is to get them out of the trash,’” Pittman said. He said that Curbell refused to take his complaint formally and brushed him off with a nasty attitude.“Had it been Harry Potter, Spiderman or Barney Goes to Jail, they would have fixed it right then and there,” Pittman said. “My conscience is burning because they were being racist - period. They are stealing money from Tyler Perry’s movie.”

“It was a mistake, and we’re looking into it,” Kelly Hoskins said in an abrasive and condescending tone when I called Wehrenberg’s corporate offices and asked about the incidents. She also said that the theatres installed new ticketing systems that might have contributed to the error.Shawn Ellens went to St. Louis Mills (which is not a Wehrenberg theatre) to see the movie. According to her, she waited for more than 20 minutes from the original 6:45 p.m. start time to see Why Did I get Married.She said the film then was screened out of focus and with the actors’ heads cut off. They stopped the film to resolve the issue and left guests waiting.“When it finally got up, the film had already started and we had missed part of it,” Ellens said.After people started complaining, they offered passes to see another film.“I had never experienced that type of problem before,” Ellens said. “While I can only speculate (regarding motive), 99.9 percent of the people in there were black.”Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married opened at the top of the box office with $21.5 million.Ellens says that she rarely goes to see a movie on the first weekend, but as a fan of Perry, she wanted to make sure he had a strong finish.“Even with all of that trifling behavior, he still came out number one,” Ellen said.“I’m tickled pink, and I wish we could get word to him what happened here in St. Louis.”

According to The New York Post, Foxy committed her first violation by getting into a shoving match with another female inmate on October 3. The following day, the rapper would verbally abuse correction officers and refused to take a random drug test.

After reviewing both incidents, The Department of Correction would pluck the rapper out of general population by sentencing her to 76 days in “punitive segregation”.

Foxy is now confined to a cell by herself for 23 hours a day. She is allowed to see visitors, convene with her lawyer and go to the library or exercise in a recreation area away from general-population inmates, for an hour each day.

The inmate who Foxy got into a tussle with was sentenced to eleven days in the segregation unit.

Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon Welcomes Twins

Actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon and husband Michael Nilon welcomed twin boys, her rep tells PEOPLE.

Jax Joseph Nilon was born at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and weighed 4 lbs. 7 oz., and Jaid Thomas Nilon was born at 8:31 p.m. and weighed 4 lbs. 9 oz.

"We're so in love with them," Beauvais-Nilon tells PEOPLE. "The boys are just gorgeous."

The twins, who were born in Los Angeles, join Oliver, the actress's 15-year-old son from a previous marriage.

Friends such as Angie Harmon and Virginia Madsen have already showered the boys with gifts, including individual outfits from Janie & Jack and Gymboree.

"She wants to establish each twin's own identity," says a friend who attended the actress's baby shower last month. "She doesn't want to dress them up the same."

Beauvais-Nilon announced her pregnancy last June to PEOPLE, saying, "We are over the moon and feel very blessed."

The actress, who has appeared in TV's NYPD Blue and The Jamie Foxx Show, was last seen in the thriller I Know Who Killed Me, starring Lindsay Lohan and Julia Ormond. She also posed nude while pregnant in the August issue of Playboy.

Her husband is an agent for Creative Artists Agency.

The couple wed in a private ceremony in Los Angeles in May 2001.

A source close to Tameka "Tiny" Cottle has confirmed that Tiny is pregnant again with T.I.'s baby. The sex of the baby is unknown. The baby would be the couple's second child together. Tiny delivered a stillborn baby girl this past March and the couple were determined to have another baby.

Meanwhile, T.I., real name Clifford Harris, was denied bond in a federal magistrate court today. In attendance at the proceedings were Tiny, two of T.I.'s other baby mamas and all of T.I.'s children except for King who remained at home. Tiny, who was arrested on marijuana and Ecstasy possession on Saturday, took King to visit his father in jail yesterday. I'm told the first thing T.I.P. did was apologize to Tiny.

My source informed me that King is still traumatized from the raid which took place at T.I.'s home in College Park on Saturday. ATF agents simultaneously broke down the front door while smashing out windows in the back of the house and tossing stun grenades into the house. King, 3, was in a downstairs room playing at the time of the raid. The other children had just left the home to go to acting class. I'm told T.I.'s 15-year-old nephew ran out the back door and was tackled and stomped by ATF agents.

While agents found T.I.'s gun collection in his bedroom safe, no drugs were found in the home. Many have questioned why T.I. had such an arsenal in the first place. The answer is simple: boys love guns. My brother, Ray, has been an avid gun collector since his teens so I have no problem believing that. My brother obtained his license to carry a concealed weapon at the age of 18. He quickly amassed a collection of guns much larger than T.I.'s collection. Today, my brother, who never attended college, owns a GNC store in Dunnedin, Florida (a suburb of Tampa). My brother has never shot anyone.It's easy to question why T.I. was buying machine guns and silencers, but what gun collector (my brother included) doesn't own a machine gun? It doesn't mean they intend to start a war. I imagine it would be difficult for a boy like T.I. to turn down the chance to own a machine gun. It doesn't make him a bad person.

As I am at the grocery store yesterday morning, I grabbed a paper. The Ill-Na-Na herself was scheduled to go to court today. Her mom showed up and everything. They sent THREE, count 'em, THREE buses to get this broad and she did not go. Bus #1 - Her weave and makeup were not on point. They sent #2 to get her ass and she claimed she was hungry. They sent a third bus and ol' girl pretty much said two tears and a bucket, F*** it, and did not make her way out to the bus. She has been rescheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. I wouldn't even give her the chance to protest, I would show up on Tuesday morning with shackles and chains and would snatch her up and sling her onto somebody's bus...

New Jack Swing tour coming thru...

Saw the commercial last night that the show is coming thru in November. The tour is comprised of Bobby Brown, K-Ci & JoJo, Guy, and After 7. Now, as much as I would like to go and see this tour (After 7 singing Ready or Not would pay for the tickets themselves), I am not paying up to $76 for tickets. I'll save my money for when NE comes thru next year for their 25th anniversary. Now THAT will be a show to see.

The Natureboy suing a car dealership??

I used to love to watch wrestling, especially when I was younger - Tony Atlas, Ray Candy, The Anderson Brothers, Dusty Rhodes and the Natureboy himself, Ric Flair. Well, he is suing a car dealership in Columbia, South Carolina, claiming that they are using a character named Captain Freedom that bears a resemblance to him and uses two of his catchphrases - "Wooooooo", which we all know and love, and "to be the man, you have to beat the man". Now, if there was a ring set up and the guy flew at fullspeed towards the corner and somehow ends up upside down, then the Natureboy would have a clear and tight case.

Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit and will serve 30 days in county jail under terms of a plea agreement.

Attorney Blair Berk entered the plea on behalf of Sutherland, who was not present.

As part of the arrangement, Sutherland must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.

The charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or higher stemmed from a traffic stop in Los Angeles last month.

A second misdemeanor charge, driving under the influence, was dropped.

Sutherland is already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest. Superior Court Judge Stuart M. Rice revoked the actor's probation in that case.

Sutherland, star of Fox's "24," could face six months in jail for violating probation. Sentencing is set for Dec. 21, the same day the show begins its winter production break.

Beanie Sigel rented a Nisan Altima from a rental place in Philly. He was suppose to return in August and didn't and the car rental company reported it stolen AND continued to charge his credit card. Did he really think that they would not miss a car from their inventory? If they continued to charge you, sir, then they know you got it.

Vick taking classes at PETA?

PETA announced today that Michael Vick, the embattled Atlanta Falcons quarterback who plead guilty to dog fighting charges, completed an eight-hour class in empathy and animal protection. Let me see if I get my information straight...Kim was with Al B. Sure and they had a son - Quincy. Puffy was with Misa and they had a child - Justin. Kim started messing around with Puffy and they had a son - Christian. Years later, they have two baby girls. Puffy had a child outside of the relationship with Sarah Chapman and to quote Kim in Essence -

“Christian’s got two beautiful sisters. He Ain’t thinking about that other one, trust me when I tell you.”

How wrong is that? The sin is in the fornication, not the child. If these broads stop settling for a trifling you know what who only uses them for sex, then there would be no argument. My oldest daughter, Big Syd, brought home her first progress report from 6th grade today - all A's and 1 B (89 - gunning for that A). Also, she was student of the month for 6D at her middle school. My middle daughter, Jada Poo Poo, was asked to be in the Art Club, a true distinction because you normally have to apply; over 100 students apply and 12 are selected, Jada was given an invitation to join and she has brought home A's on everything since school began. And last but not least, my last daughter, K-Rock. She just got glasses last week and was the line leader for her class for August! My husband and I are so proud of them and I wanted to recognize them on the blog.

Somebody PLEASE help Britney Spears...

Salt and Pepa to have a reality show in October

From the clip I've seen, there is some bad blood between the ladies. Salt feels underappreciated and Pepa thinks Salt screwed her by leaving the group. Salt is married with chiren and Pep is still the party girl. Shaq's soon to be ex-wife wanted them to perform at a function and Salt is having issues with how she can perform their songs with the beliefs she now has. The manager who tells them the offer looks like he wants to knock his head against the wall. Guess we'll have to tune in to see what happens...

Six black students at Jena High School in Central Louisiana were arrested last December after a school fight in which a white student was beaten and suffered a concussion and multiple bruises. The six black students were charged with attempted murder and conspiracy. They face up to 100 years in prison without parole. The fight took place amid mounting racial tension after a black student sat under a tree in the schoolyard where only white students sat. The next day three nooses were hanging from the tree.

Jena is a small town nestled deep in the heart of Central Louisiana. Until recently, you may well have never heard of it. But this rural town of less than 4,000 people has become a focal point in the debate around issues of race and justice in this country.

Last December, six black students at Jena High School were arrested after a school fight in which a white student was beaten and suffered a concussion and multiple bruises. The six black students were charged with attempted second-degree murder and conspiracy. They face up to 100 years in prison without parole. The Jena Six, as they have come to be known, range in age from 15 to 17 years old.

Just over a week ago, an all-white jury took less than two days to convict 17 year-old Mychal Bell, the first of the Jena Six to go on trial. He was convicted of aggravated battery and conspiracy charges and now faces up to 22 years in prison.

Black residents say that race has always been an issue in Jena, which is 85 percent white, and that the charges against the Jena Six are no exception.

The origins of the story can be traced back to early September when a black high school student requested permission to sit under a tree in the schoolyard where usually only white students sat. The next day three nooses were found hanging from the tree.

MEGAN WILLIAMS
Megan Williams, 20, wakes up in her hospital bed on Monday evening and is comforted by her mother, Carmen Williams. Police say Williams was tortured and raped in a Logan County (West Virginia) house for about a week. The FBI is investigating this as a hate crime. Read on:

Carmen Williams doesn’t understand why her 20-year-old daughter was tortured, raped and tied up in a shed. Police tell her that what happened was probably a hate crime, that it happened because Megan Williams is black.

“Every time they stabbed her, they called her ‘nigger,’” her mother said.
But whatever the reason, Carmen Williams wants people to know what happened to her daughter. She agreed to talk to a reporter from her daughter’s room at Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital.

She said a man and a woman — who Megan Williams thought were her friends — took her to the house of Frankie Lee Brewster in Pecks Mill, Logan County.

The details are even more horrible. According to the complaints, she was forced to eat dog and rat feces and to lick up blood. She was made to lick parts of Brewster’s body, under the threat of death. Her hair was pulled out. She was made to drink from the toilet. She was sexually assaulted while hot water was poured on her body, and while a man held a knife to her.

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND

A noose was left hanging from a tree limb near a black cultural studies center on an American college campus.

That's the scenario that University of Maryland police, with help from the FBI, are investigating as a possible hate crime that may be tied to a similar racial controversy playing out in Louisiana.

Students and faculty at the university's Nyumburu Cultural Center reported the noose to police Friday afternoon, Paul Dillon, a spokesman for the University of Maryland Police Department, told ABC News. The building has been a meeting point for the university's black students and faculty for 27 years. Nyumburu is the Swahili word for "freedom house."

The noose already had been removed by the maintenance staff when police first took the report, but not before an unidentified student took a picture of the scene and e-mailed the image to police. It shows a roughly 3-foot white rope hanging 10 to 12 feet off the ground and ending with a small noose.

Police issued a campuswide e-mail Friday night regarding the discovery and marking the beginning of the formal investigation.

"We will treat this like any other serious crime on campus," Dillon said, "interviewing witnesses and developing a timeline."

It remains unclear when the noose was originally hung from the tree and who may be behind the apparent hate message. Dillon said creating a timeline will be key and might allow investigators to pinpoint surveillance video of the area showing the perpetrator or perpetrators.

There is recent precedent for racially motivated disputes on the Maryland campus. In 1999, police investigated a series of disparaging letters sent to some of the university's black leaders. No charges were filed, Dillon said, but police did "get to the bottom" of the harassing letters.

To quote Marvin Gaye, "What's going on...?" Remember, it's not all about the biggest car or the shiniest rims or the one with the most money, the new LV or the cutest jeans. People are still dealing with racial issues EVERYDAY. The Civil Rights Movement was in the 1960's. That was only 40 years ago, enough for one or two generations and some of them have the same ideals of their parents and grandparents. Wake up, people...

Sorry I have been MIA the past couple of days. Had a bachalorette party Friday night that kept me out for a minute (shout outs to ya Stacey, Darryan, Quiona, Faye, Doreena and Andrea - it was good seeing you this weekend!) We started out at Taboo II and made our way over to the Coronet Club. And I'll end that post there. Saturday was my recoup day and yesterday was the wedding, which was beautiful. Foxy sentenced to a year in the pokey!

She will spend the next year in jail for violating her probation and they booted her ass straight back to her cell at Rikers. The judge, Melissa Jackson, ignored her pleas for mercy, called her a "great actress" and said if this had been the first time she apologized she might be believable. Unless Fox gets time off for good behavior, guess she will have her baby in jail.

Did Shaq file for DIVORCE?

The Miami Herald is reporting Shaq filed for divorce today:

Miami Heat center Shaquille O’Neal wants to divorce Shaunie, his wife of nearly five years. ”The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” says his petition, filed Tuesday by attorney Ira Elegant. The O’Neals have four children together — Shareef, 7, Amirah, 5, Shaqir, 4, and Me’Arah, 1. Shaq has a daughter, Taahirah, and Shaunie has a son, Myles, from previous relationships.

The family lives on Miami Beach’s exclusive Star Island. They bought an $18.8 million estate in the summer of ‘04, at the time of his trade to the Heat. It is for sale — No. 32 is asking $32 million.

In the petition, O’Neal refers to the Star Island mansion as “the former marital home.”Shaunie, he says, has been ‘’secretive about her assets . . . particularly with respect to certain properties owned or titled in either [her] name alone or in other entities.” He wants the court to order Shaunie to give a ”correct accounting of all money, funds, stocks, bonds, and other securities (including bearer securities)” that she came into during the marriage.

If this is true, sounds like ol' girl might have taken Kobe's bitchness to heart about Shaq paying out to his girlfriends and was trying to save a little something on the side in case he started trippin...

Sidney Dorsey's son shot while shooting dice

Sidney Dorsey Jr., the son of DeKalb County's corrupt former sheriff, was shot on Labor Day at a crowded apartment complex in southwest Atlanta.

Witnesses told police the younger Dorsey, 41, had been shooting dice Monday at 10:30 p.m. when he was robbed and shot in the right leg in a breezeway at Gordon Apartments on Fairburn Road, said Atlanta Police Officer James Polite.

Atlanta police are expected to release more details about the incident later today.
Dorsey Sr. is in prison for ordering the murder of his political rival, incoming Decal County Sheriff Derwin Brown, who had promised to clean up the corrupt department. Brown was gunned down in his driveway while taking his wife roses for her birthday on Dec. 15, 2000. He never took office.

Gunman Melvin Walker and accomplice David Ramsey, who both worked under Dorsey at the sheriff's department, also remain in prison serving life sentences for the assassination.

Dorsey Sr., who had maintained his innocence for years, was recently in the news after he summoned DeKalb prosecutors to admit he ordered the hit on Brown. However, he tried to downplay his role by saying that he changed his mind and had tried to call off the murder.

Nick Hogan should have been under the jail months ago..

Apparently on one occassion, Nick was stopped twice and let loose by officers and the third time he was stopped, the officer said he knew that Nick had been let go twice and that he would have to write him a ticket. Nick is also quoted as stating that when he had his yellow Vipor out tooling around town, broads were droppin' the drawls left and right. This is the same car that was demolished earlier this week. No remorse for him with comments like this. He is a speed demon and I blame the Hulk and Linda also. Your 17 year old son is getting tickets left and right and you still allow him to drive the cars that you had to purchase? Celebrity spawn think they are above everyone else and its no wonder, when Nicole Richie spend all of 82 minutes in jail for some serious stuff. Hopefully Nick's friend survives...

JD had the grand opening for his new spot on Lawrenceville Highway last night. Plenty of star power was in the house (Janet, Nelly, to name a few). Usher and his newly betrothed showed up. Just can't take these two seriously. Tameka had a baby bump and for someone who has been pregnant for about 6 months, she is not very big. Monica was there and she actually looks pregnant. AND, they are supposedly going to have a wedding celebration this weekend. OOOKKKKKK.....

Update on Hulk's son

He was released yesterday from the hospital. His passenger is still there. Apparently Nick has a bit of a speed issue. He has had his license for a year and this is the FOURTH incident for him where he was driving too damn fast for his own good.

Oprah ain't playing any games when it comes to supporting Barack Obama. Next month she will hold a star-studded fundraiser at her $64 million estate near Santa Barbara, California. The talk show queen would like her out of town guest to stay at the nearby San Ysidro Ranch but the it is already booked for the weekend.

"Due to the proximity to and the cachet of the ranch to Oprah's estate, Oprah's people have been calling the bride to either move or vacate some of the rooms to accommodate her guest list," our source snitched. "The bride, an attorney, is not budging.

Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry has been ordered by the DeKalb Superior Court to provide $3,000 per month for a boy he fathered three years ago in Lithonia, Georgia. According to the court records, Henry has fathered nine children by nine women in at least four Southern states and has been ordered by several judges to provide child support for at least seven of them.

He didn't have any problem dishing out more than $146,000 for jewelry and $100,000 on a ride.The Denver Post reports that Travis did not hide from the fact that he is the father of so many children, and said: "People can judge me all they want, but only God can judge me.

Foxy Brown filed suit against the Correction Department yesterday, arguing that a judge's decision to lock her up for alleged probation violations was "arbitrary" and "unlawful" - but another judge quickly KO'd the petition.The three-months pregnant Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was tossed behind bars by Judge Melissa Jackson last Wednesday, pending a full hearing Sept. 7 on the alleged violations.The filing said Brown is "suffering greatly" at Rikers Island.Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Laura Ward denied Brown's bid for freedom.

Owen Wilson’s emergency hospitalization on Sunday was the result of a suicide attempt, The National Enquirer and Star magazine are reporting.
Sources tell the mags that Wilson sliced his left wrists and took an indeterminate amount of pills. Owen was discovered by a family member who summoned help. Police and an ambulance responded to a 911 call from Wilson’s house in Los Angeles around noon on Sunday. Owen is said to be in stable condition at the moment.

The Hulk's son in serious car accident

The son of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan was seriously injured in a car crash Sunday night, police said.

A Toyota Supra driven by Nick Bollea was traveling at a high rate of speed at approximately 7:30 p.m., Clearwater Police spokesman Wayne Shelor said. Bollea, which is Hogan's real name, lost control and hit a raised median. The car flipped around, and the back end hit a palm tree.
"The car was destroyed," Shelor said.

Bollea and an unidentified male passenger were extricated from the car by paramedics, Shelor said. Then they were airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Their official conditions were not immediately available, but Shelor described the injuries of both men as serious.
The crash occurred on State Route 60, a main drag through downtown Clearwater. The road had to be shut down in both directions for several hours, Shelor said.

Alcohol is not believed to have played a part in the crash. The crash seems to have been caused by excessive speed, Shelor said.

Wow, you just never know when something like this will happen. Prayers to them.

John Singleton involved in fatal car accident

LAPD say Singleton was driving his 2001 Lexus SUV around 8:00 p.m. on a Los Angeles street when a female pedestrian, not in a crosswalk, suddenly stepped out in front of Singleton’s car. Police say Singleton immediately stopped and waited for police and ambulances to arrive. The 57-year-old woman, identified as Constance Russell of Los Angeles, was taken to a nearby hospital where she unfortunately died Friday morning.

Police say Singleton was not speeding at the time and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Cops say their investigation has concluded and they’ve determined that this is a “very, very unfortunate accident.” Singleton will not be cited for any violation.

C'mon Earl, you know you can do better than that...

Sheriff's deputies raided the home of rapper DMX on Friday, seizing several pit bulls and finding the remains of three other dogs but making no arrests.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office received a tip more than a week ago about dogs being kept in inhumane conditions at the Phoenix-area home, said Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Deputies found the buried dogs when they dug up the back yard. One had apparently been burned and the cause of death on the others was unknown because the bodies were decomposing.

Deputies also found a variety of firearms, Arpaio said. Authorities sought additional warrants so they could check the guns to determine if they were legal.

Apparently DMX was "extremely upset" when he found out about this; there was suppose to be a caregiver there. Sir, have you NOT been keeping up with a little known celebrity named MIKE VICK over the past four months? Do you really want to be caught with dead dogs and weapons at your house? Not a good look..

Vick suspended from the NFL

Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended the Atlanta Falcons quarterback indefinitely without pay, just hours after Vick filed a plea agreement that portrayed him as less involved than three co-defendants and guilty mainly of poor judgment for associating with them.

Vick acknowledged bankrolling gambling on the dogfights, but denied placing bets himself or taking any of the winnings. He admitted that dogs not worthy of the pit were killed "as a result of the collective efforts" of himself and two co-defendants.

Vick deeply into dogfighting, father says

Michael Vick's father said he pushed his son to quit dogfighting years ago or, at least, put property used for the fights in the name of friends to avoid being implicated some day.

Michael Boddie, in two sometimes tearful interviews with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution this week, said some time around 2001 his son staged dogfights in the garage of the family's home in Newport News, Va. Boddie also said Vick kept fighting dogs in the family's backyard, including injured ones — "bit up, chewed up, exhausted" — that the father nursed back to health.

Boddie, who is estranged from his son, dismissed the idea that Vick's longtime friends were the main instigators of the dogfighting operation.

"I wish people would stop sugarcoating it," Boddie said. "This is Mike's thing. And he knows it."
He "likes it, and he has the capital to have a set up like that."

Daniel Meachum, an attorney for Vick, said his client never mentioned situations described by Boddie, nor discussed Boddie in relation to dog activities. "It's a disgrace Mr. Boddie, who chose for nearly 22 years not to be part of Mike's life, would at this time seek to capitalize on his son's current situation."

Vick's mother, Brenda Vick Boddie, who hasn't lived with her husband for the past five years, did not return calls seeking comment.

Boddie said he and the Atlanta Falcons quarterback have had a volatile relationship for years and that his son has refused to speak with him directly for the last 2 1/2 half months. Boddie said he is speaking out because he's been hurt by his son and wife's failure over the years to correct what he considers inaccurate media reports that Vick grew up without his father present.

"I've been drug through the mud," Boddie said.

He said he intends to write a damaging book about more of what he knows.
Boddie, 45, lives in a Duluth apartment that his son has paid the rent on for the last three years. Vick, who has a $130 million contract with the Falcons, also gives him a couple of hundred dollars every week or two, the father said.

Boddie wanted more. Two years ago, he said, he asked Vick for $1 million, spread out over 12 years, enough to keep him comfortable for the rest of his life. Vick declined, the father said. In recent weeks, Boddie asked Vick, through an assistant, for $700,000 to live on.

Boddie said he hasn't been contacted by federal investigators pursuing dogfighting accusations against Vick. A federal grand jury indicted Vick with one count of conspiracy to cross state lines to engage in illegal gambling; to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture; and to buy, transport and receive dogs for animal fighting.

The indictment does not mention the parents' former home in Newport News, where Boddie said he cared for Vick's pit bulls and where he said three dogfighting session were held, roughly around the time that Vick was transitioning from college football to the pros.

Earlier this week, Vick agreed to plead guilty Monday in the federal dogfighting case in Richmond. He faces prison and the possible end of his football career. Three co-defendants already pleaded guilty and were expected to testify against Vick if the case went to trial. In addition, a Virginia prosecutor is considering bringing state charges against Vick.

Anger and anguish
Boddie lives in an apartment, just a few miles from where his son lives in the upscale, gated Sugarloaf neighborhood. Posters of the football star are thumb-tacked to the walls of a guest bedroom. A picture of Vick's two young children is framed on a wall near the kitchen. Hung on a wall beside the kitchen sink is a long list entitled "Quick Drink Recipes."

In language blanketed with profanity, a sometimes sitting, sometimes pacing Boddie recounted what he said was some, but not all, of what he knows about his son. At times while discussing his wife and children, Boddie appeared to alternate between anger and anguish. His cellphone rang several times. At one point he answered, paused, unleashed an expletive-laced torrent of words and marched out of the apartment with the phone to his ear. He later said the caller was an assistant of Michael Vick's who asked what he planned to disclose to a reporter and urged him to keep quiet.

"I know some things," Boddie said. "That's why they're going crazy."

He said he's not perfect. He said he hasn't worked since 2003, went through drug rehab in 2004 paid for by his son, was sometimes high or drunk around his children when they were young, has gotten in trouble for drinking and driving and had his driver's license revoked.
"There are some things I wish I could go back and change," he said.

But Boddie said he gave Vick something that most kids didn't have in the Newport News housing projects where both grew up: "I never left his side. Never left his mother's side. And where we come from, this day and time, that's a hell of a thing."

He and Vick's mother weren't married when Michael Vick was born. But they married later and Boddie said he lived with the family from the time Vick was 3 years old until after his eldest son went to Virginia Tech to play football. He said he was usually working during Vick's youth, often on jobs sandblasting and repainting ships.

He said he is frustrated about continued suggestions that Vick was raised without a father. He said his son and wife should have set the record straight.

But in a 2001 AJC article about their son, his wife was quoted as saying that Boddie's presence in Vick's childhood "means a lot to me."

"He was always there, providing, taking care of what needed to be taken care of. Through everything, we stayed together as a family. I have a lot of respect for him for that."
But in other press reports, both Michael Vick and his mother suggested that Boddie was an emotionally distant father. He "never paid that much attention to me," Vick said, according to a Sports Illustrated story in 2000.

Boddie said that, over the last year, his son has been disrespecting him, "talking to me like I'm one of his . . . dogs."

Boddie said he's tried to look out for his son. Around 2002, while at Vick's rural property near Smithfield, Va., he warned his son.

"I told him basically, 'You don't need to be doing this. You got bigger fish to fry. You got more important things that you can do.' "

Boddie recalled telling his son to transfer the property to the name of one of his friends: " 'Take this place right now, put it in one of their names because if anything goes wrong . . . it's you they coming after.' "

Boddie said he doesn't recall his son's reply.

Boddie also said dogfighting occurred at the family's Newport News home on Terrace Drive. The family was in the house for about a year or more as Vick moved from playing college football at Virginia Tech to the pros.

Boddie said he cleaned out the home's garage three times in 2001 to make room for dogfighting sessions held by Vick and his friends.

"I hung around long enough to actually walk in there when an actual dogfight was going on," Boddie said, but he added that he didn't stay long.

"It wasn't my thing," he said.

He said he had already witnessed test fights of dogs — in which dogs battle to see how well a prospective fighter will perform.

"It's really something to stand there and watch. You have to have the stomach for it," he said.
Boddie said Michael Vick kept pit bulls in eight cages in the backyard of the Terrace Drive home.
However, a neighbor, Willie-Mae Hansell, said she only saw one dog at the house, and never heard anything unusual there.

"I fed the dogs," Boddie said. "I've nursed them back to health, dogs that have been in fights. Raised litters of puppies."

The injured dogs could barely muster up enough strength to eat at first, he said.
Boddie contends that Vick's mother was aware of the dogfighting and said he heard her tell her son to stop it.

Boddie said of his son: "I think he basically told her, 'OK, Mama. OK, I'll stop.' "

Boddie said he wasn't aware of any dogfighting in the Newport News projects when Vick grew up there. The closest he recalled was kids being fascinated as dogs chased stray cats in a nearby lumber yard.

He said that, despite his earlier warnings to his son, he never expected Vick would someday face the dogfighting troubles he is in now. "I thought he would have gotten out of it by then, gotten it out of his system."

Paris Hilton is sentenced to jail and you have her parents calling everyone, including the governator himself, Ah-nold, to try and get her out of her sentence. She served a whopping three weeks after she was snatched back up only because there was such an outrage and somebody got mad that she was released. I guess your grandaddy making a campaign contribution to the local police department doesn't buy as much leeway as it used to. Just read that Nicole Richie's ass has already checked into jail and checked out TODAY. She went in at 3:15 and got out at 4:37 TODAY. Supposedly this is standard procedure for people sentenced to less than 30 days. She was sentenced to a whopping 4 days. Lindsey Lohan reached a plea deal TODAY where she will have to spend a day in jail, 10 days of community service and a drug treatment program. She has been charged with drunk driving twice and cocaine was found in the car the second time. How are you issued SEVEN tickets for various crimes and you get sentenced to a day in jail? Mind you this is all in California. Don't know if the laws are different but the island of New York damn sure threw Foxy Brown in the penile yesterday and is making her stay there until her trial date in early September.

Viv's Not so Happy Birthday

Vivica A. Fox 's glam New York birthday party Tuesday night turned into a thornymess of allegations yesterday, with her own stylist claiming she was drinking alcohol in violation of a court order.

Guests including Shaquille O'Neal, Brooke Hogan and Swizz Beatz were enjoying the festivities at Sol nightclub for her belated 43rd.

But the first bump in the evening came when a promised Rolls-Royce Phantom failed to appear at Mr. Chow to take Fox to the party. Her dinner companion, Star Jones, dropped her off instead.

Then there was a red carpet kerfuffle when Bronx rapper Remy Ma arrived
uninvited.

"Remy and her management were asked not to attend by the club in advance, due to her pending court case for attempted murder," says an organizer. But like any good diva, the songbird strutted her curves in a tight dress on the red carpet until "she was turned away at the door by a wall of security."

The next day, a check for Fox's $2,500 appearance fee was rejected by her bank because it was drawn on a closed account. (source)

"The show was crazy last night. From the surprise guests to the performances. The best part of da show was when 50 brought da entire G-Unit to perform ‘I Get Money.’ Yung Joc brought out Diddy to perform with him. Then the most amazing thing happened T.I. brought out the 1 and only Hov and he performed ‘Encore.’ Then Kanye came out and performed ‘Cant tell me nothing!’ It was amazing to have T.I., Hov, Kanye, 50, Diddy, and the one man band man Swizzy. T.I is a great performer."

All of them on one stage. That took some arranging and I bet it was slammin'!

The District Attorney then came to the school accompanied by the town’s police and demanded that the students end their protest, telling them, “I can be your best friend or your worst enemy… I can take away your lives with a stroke of my pen.”

A series of white-on-black incidents of violence followed, and the DA did nothing. But when a white student was beaten up in a schoolyard fight, the DA responded by charging six black students with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

It’s a story that reads like one from the Jim Crow era, when judges, lawyers and all-white juries used the justice system to keep blacks in “their place.” But it’s happening today. The families of these young men are fighting back, but the story has gotten minimal press. Together, we can make sure their story is told and that the Governor of Louisiana intervenes and provides justice for the Jena 6.

NBA player dies in car crash

NBA player Eddie Griffin died last week when his sport utility vehicle collided with a freight train in a fiery crash in Texas, the Harris County medical examiner’s office said Tuesday.

Investigators used dental records to identify Griffin, 25, who began his tumultuous pro career with the Houston Rockets in 2001. He was waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves in March.

NEW YORK - Foxy Brown was hauled off to jail Wednesday after a judge revoked her probation.

The 27-year-old rapper was accused of violating the terms of her release after she was arrested earlier this month on charges she smacked her neighbor with her cell phone. Authorities said Brown also skipped her anger management classes and traveled out of the city without permission.

"She has an air of entitlement about her," city Department of Probation lawyer Matilde Leo said at a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court. "Probation is a privilege, not a right. ... She has finally abused that privilege to the point of no return."

Judge Melissa Jackson ordered Brown jailed until her next hearing on Sept. 7.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was on probation for attacking two manicurists at a nail salon in 2004. She was arrested Aug. 14 on charges of assaulting Arlene Raymond, 25, on July 30 after the pair got into a fight over Brown blasting her car stereo near her home in Brooklyn.

Brown's lawyer, state Sen. John Sampson, argued that it wasn't necessary to send her back to jail.

He told the judge the case against Brown in Brooklyn was weak, and that Brown is three months' pregnant. He said Brown has turned her life around with her pregnancy, wedding plans and deals for a new album and reality television show.

She and her lawyer know they wrong for thinking that it's OK for her to keep doing dirt and nothing is suppose to happen to her. He states she has turned her life around since she is pregnant, about to get married and has all of these deals on the table. If that was the case, she would not have been smacking her neighbor with a Blackberry a month ago and riding dirty in them streets. What an idiot..

TMZ is reporting that this chick might not do any time. She has two DUI's, was arrested July 24th with cocaine on her AND brought cocaine into the jail. Anybody that watches Dog The Bounty Hunter and anyone with common sense would know that you DON'T TAKE DRUGS INTO JAIL. Now reports say that she may just get charges with two counts of misdemeanor DUI and if found guilty would serve no more than 4 days. Her lawyers have been having quite a few convos with the prosecutors and that could mean plea bargain. This does not surprise me one bit. I guess her and Foxy Brown have been getting the same jodge and prosecutor that keeps them out of jail.

She is on probation from the 2004 assault at the beauty salon. WHY IS SHE NOT IN SOMEBODY'S JAIL? She been arrested or stopped more times than I got fingers and I find it incredible that she has managed to stay out of jail. But she has managed to stay in the spotlight and ain't got na'm record out...
