A New Year Is Upon Us....

What's happening ladies and gentlemen, dudes and dudettes. It is December 31st, New Year's Eve. 2009 is a mere 3 hours and 51 minutes away.

2008 was an interesting year. Three major things that happened in my life - Barack Obama was elected President, my father, who is never sick, had surgery and I lost my job. Barack will be in office in 20 days, my daddy is doing better and I am still looking for a job.

I normally don't do the resolution thing; I never stick to it. But I have decided that I need to lose some weight. I started working on it earlier in the week by starting some exercising, watching my diet and not drinking sodas. I stopped eating late at night, which I am VERY guilty of. Just small changes at first that will increase over time.

I want to lose 65 pounds. I want to be around to see my daughters do all of the wonderful things that they are going to do. According to the 50 Million Pound Challenge, my bmi (body mass index) is damn near off the charts. Plus my body is starting to feel very uncomfortable.

So there you have it. I am going to lose 65 pounds. I would love to lose it by my birthday (March 30th) but I am trying to be realistic. I am going to track my progress and see how it goes.

In closing, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. May you and your family be healthy and properous in 2009 and please don't drink and drive tonight. I probably won't be back online until Monday so I will see you then! Peace!!

Two commercials that have elements that are really irritating me...

First, the McDonalds commercial where the guy is singing to his chick that she is getting nuggets and not offering him any. He is seriously singing to her and as she rebuffs him yet again, tells her to "not be stingy". Imma need you to do better than this Mickey D's and secondly, the Red Lobster commercial where they boast that each location has a certified Grillmaster and they show the brother with the chef gear on turning a lobster tail on a grill like his life depends on it. It's NOT that serious sir...he is flipping it with tongs and has a full size spatula behind it just in case. Give me a break....

Wow....just wow.....

Tomorrow, December 18th, will be 3 months since I was laid off from my job. I've been out all day taking care of some things and I get home and see this:

Chrysler just announced that they will be closing all 30 of their plants beginning this Friday for one month.

The car manufacturer claims it is nearing the minimum level of cash it needs to run the company and will have trouble paying bills after the first of the year.

Another stellar ensemble ccast...

I caught the last few minutes of "Posse" last night and it is a who's who of black actors. Just off the top of my head - Mario Van Peeoples, Melvin Van Peoples, Blair Underwood, Salli Richardson, Tiny Lester, Reginald Vel Johnson, Big Daddy Kane, Nipsey Russell, Issac Hayes. I went to imdb.com and there was also Stephen Baldwin, Billy Zane, Tone Loc, Pam Grier, Vesta Williams, the guy who played the Don King like figure in Rocky V (I think his name is Richard Gant), the Hudlin Brothers, Aaron Neville, Stephen J. Cannell (TV creator extraordinaire) and Robert Hooks. Wow, that's a lot. It's not the best movie but Mario playing the sexy Jessie Lee makes up for it!

Let's just say barring a miracle, it's gonna be a minute before Orenthal sees the light of day..

1:27 pm - TMZ just summed it up...16 YEARS, shawty...his co-defendant that was convicted also got 16 years....

1:24 pm - I just watched the judge hand down the sentence for O.J. Some of the charges carries a sentence as little as 6 months bt some of the more serious charges carried a sentence of 15 years. So although I am not quite sure of exactly how much time he will serve, he is going to serve plenty.

O.J. Simpson is being sentenced today.

The Juice faces up to six years in prison.

Developing story...

Mr. Bentley from the Jeffersons has passed away...

Paul Benedict, the gentleman that played the next door neighbor to George and Louise, was found dead at Martha's Vineyard. I think George and Florence are the only main characters that have not passed away from that show. RIP Mr. Benedict...

This brother just refuses to step out of the spotlight...

Kwame Kilpatrick is like an effin' roach...

Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who pleaded guilty and resigned amid multiple scandals earlier this year, is hoping to salvage his license to practice law.

As part of his plea deal, Kilpatrick lost his law license, but noted that he was doing so “under protest”. His attorneys are now appealing the decision to Michigan’s lawyer regulatory board.

Attorney Phillip Thomas said, “What happened was totally unprecedented. There are lawyers out there convicted of manslaughter and very, very serious felonies that this doesn’t happen to.”
The state’s Attorney Discipline Board has given Kilpatrick until the end of November to file an argument as to why the disbarment order shouldn’t be finalized.

As if this week was not historic enough, today, I experienced history...

During World War II, 450 black men broke the color barrier to become fighter pilots and bombers and fly missions across Europe. They're known as the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American flying unit in the U.S. military.

At my daughters' school today, there was a Veteran's Day program. My husband is a veteran so we went to honor him and other veterans. And the guest Speaker was Val Archer, one of the Tuskegee Airmen in the 332nd Fighter Group. It was truly a great program. I was moved to tears several times during the presentation. And afterwards, there was a reception in the media center and my husband, my daughter and myself got to meet and shake hands with Mr. Archer. It was a great honor to meet him and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

It you see anything shady going on in line, report it immediately. There were all kinds of news reports out yesterday that people were showing up at polling places trying to be shady. Just think...in 24 hours (barring any foolishness), we could have the first Black president of the United States.

VOTE TODAY! VOTE TODAY! VOTE TODAY! VOTE TODAY!

How sad...Obama's grandmother passed away earlier today...

Sen. Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died following a bout with cancer, Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, said Monday.

This photo provided by the Obama campaign shows Obama in 1979 with his grandmother Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham

"She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility," their statement said.

"She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure."

Obama and Soetoro-Ng asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held "at a later date."

The Democratic presidential candidate left the campaign trail on October 23 and flew to Honolulu, Hawaii, to spend the day with Dunham, whose health deteriorated after she suffered a broken hip.

His wife, Michelle Obama, filled in for him at events in Columbus and Akron, Ohio, on October 24.

Obama said in an interview taped for that day's "Good Morning America" that Dunham had been "inundated" with flowers and messages from strangers who read about her in Obama's 1995 book, "Dreams From My Father."

"Maybe she is getting a sense of long-deserved recognition toward the end of her life," he said.

The candidate resumed his campaign on October 25.

Obama has spoken about his grandmother often on the stump, talking about what an integral figure she was in his youth and how she struggled against the glass ceiling in her career. He and his family traveled to Hawaii in August to visit her.

"She's the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself so that I could have a better life," he said in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. "She poured everything she had into me. And although she can no longer travel, I know that she's watching tonight, and that tonight is her night as well."

Boomerang - LOVES IT!

I just caught the last 15 minutes of Boomerang and not only is it a good movie but has one of the best star studded casts with alot of people that were established or just getting established and became big stars. Just think of it and this is just off the top of my head - Eddie Murphy, Halle Berry, Robin Givens, Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, David Allen Grier, Grace Jones, Eartha Kitt, Lela Rachon, Geoffrey Holder. And I almost forgot about Tisha Campbell-Martin, John Witherspoon, Bebe Drake. Wow, just wow. A great example of buppies and the way things were in the nineties.

Latest on Jennifer Hudson family...

Her older sister, the mother of the missing little boy, made a plea for his safe return. The FBI has been called in since they think the little boy has been taken over state lines. The reward is $100,000. The siter's estranged husband is still in jail but for parole charges not associated with this. He has not been charged with anything YET.

Jennifer Hudson...

I was at the hospital yesterday with my family. My daddy had an operation. We are helping him out of the bed around 7:00 when Charles Gibson announces that Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother had been killed. Just totally out of the blue. I called my husband and told him. I am reading all of the stories now. Can you imagine the phone call? The phone call telling you that something like this has happened to your mother and brother? That they are no longer with us? This is a horrible, horrible story.

Nick Hogan was released from jail this morning...

You remember him, right? Son of Hulk Hogan who was put in jail for eight months because he caused an accident that ruined the life of his friend that was riding in the car? Well, he was released from prison a couple of hours ago. I really think he should have had to spend the entire whoping eight months instead of getting out in five. And eight months was not enough time to give him for what he did...just my opinion of course...

From the "WTH Files..."

Don Cornelius, lengendary creator and host of Soul Train, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Police were called to his house Friday night after someone reported that there was a domestic dispute at his house in Hollywood Hills. The SEVENTY TWO year old was taken to jail, where he was released on $50,000 bail and ordered to appear in court next month.

Mr. Cornelius, I have always loved your show and I am glad that the older episodes from the 70's still come on. But you know better than this. I saw a picture of you a couple of months ago and you were out with some young chick who was posing for the cameras and you were giving her the "No this b**** ain't" look. Sir, you are 72. Stop the foolishness,,,

RIP Mr. Stubbs...

From PerezHilton.com

Four Tops lead singer Levi Stubbs has passed away. He died Friday in Michigan. Stubbs was 72-years old.

Levi had been in ill health since being diagnosed with cancer in 1995. A stroke and other health problems led him to stop touring in 2000.

Of the original Four Tops members, only one survives - Abdul "Duke" Fakir.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Stubbs' family.

The Final Presidential debate came on Wednesday night...

If McCain had done one more smirk, given Senator Obama one more "who does this guy think he is?" look or looked like he was going to laugh one more time, I was prepared to jump thru the TV and put it on him. He tries to make fun of Barack to make it seem like his own ideas are so great. When he had to say something, Barack would listen and would interject when necessary.

Boy stop...

I just watched the "Sex and the City" movie...

It was fabulous!!! I could not have watched this at the movie theater, I kept going back and rewinding parts. I cried, laughed out loud and had a great time watching it.

We did not have HBO when the series was on and I started watching it when it started coming on TBS. Those four broads are off the hook. The movie was just ridiculously good and I will be watching it again tomorrow. Netflix, be damned!!

AIG again...

AND I read this morning that the gubment is handing them ANOTHER 38 billion, this is after finding out about the spa experience. Disgraceful...

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

AIG...

Let me get this straight...Just days after this company got 85 BILLION dollars from the federal government to stop bankruptcy, a contingent went on a spa trip where they spent over $440,000???? $23,000+ was spent on spa treatments alone.

My husband is driving in the poring rain right now but I had to call and tell him this. WTH? I've lost my job and trying to figure out how to cover the bills this month cause I can't find ANYTHING and these people, who screwed up in the first place in order to have to have someone bail them out, are out spending money like its water. Disgust does not even begin to describe it...

TODAY is the last day to register to vote in the Presidential Election...

If you are registered, good for you. If you did not register, then I don't want to hear one negative thing come from your mouth about ANYTHING that happens in this country after the election. You had your chance.

If you are not sure if you are registered, go to the Secretary of State site and you can put in your name and address and it will tell you your voting precinct.

The Juice was found GUILTY of all charges...what an idiot...

Not trying to be funny but you got away with murder 13 years ago. A double murder at that. You would think that O.J. would be out on somebody's golf course tending to his own business and staying out of the spotlight. But noooooo, this clown breakin' into hotel rooms like he is the law and acting foolish. He should have considered it a done deal when he saw the jury.

From Perezhilton.com...

The jury of nine men and three women, none of them African-American, began deliberations Friday after hearing from 22 witnesses over 12 days of testimony. Chief among the witnesses were seven of the nine people inside Room 1203 of the Palace Station Hotel and Casino for the September 13, 2007 confrontation.

The evidence included testimony from the two dealers, four co-defendants who cut plea deals and cooperated with prosecutors and hours of often-profane, crackling, secretly recorded audiotapes.
Prosecutors alleged that the men, led by Simpson, burst into the room, flashed a gun and threatened memorabilia dealers Bruce Fromong and Al Beardsley.

The men then filled two pillowcases with Simpson trinkets, signed Pete Rose baseballs and Joe Montana lithographs. Simpson's defense attorneys maintained their client was merely trying to retrieve personal photographs and other mementos that belonged to him.

Neither Simpson nor his co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart testified during the trial

The legend that is Paul Newman passed away...

"Cool Hand Luke" is one of my favorite movies and he was one of my favorite personalities. RIP, Mr. Newman...

Thursday, September 25, 2008

This makes no sense to me...

Can someone please explain to me why the government is considering giving 700 million or billion dollars to these companies to bail them out of financial situations and there has been very little done to help people out who are losing their jobs, foreclosures and an economy that really sucks right now? It just seems so backwards. And most of the higher ups that are asking for this money probably participated in crooked crap that caused problems that led to this...

Doesn't this kid pop up every few months when he needs some attention??

From D-Listed...

Latarian Milton, the 7-year-old kid who stole his memaw's car last April to do "hood rat stuff," has struck again! Struck four more times to be exact.

Latarian stole the keys to his grandma's 2006 Durgano AGAIN! How the hell is she just leaving her keys out in the open like that?! She needs to hide that s*** under a fruit bowl or somewhere else he will never look.

After Latarian stole the car, he drove down the street, turned into Costco, hit two parked cars, got back onto the street and hit two more parked cars before pulling into the Wal-Mart parking lot. He finally hit a sign and then drove into a ditch. His grandmother's Durango is totaled and Latarian doesn't give a f***!

We all know why he want to Wal-Mart. For the chicken wings!

When asked why he stole his grandmother's SUV again, Latarian said, "Cause I wanted to do it. My friend was in the car with me. I took it on a high-speed chase!" And what does he think about the people whose cars he hit? "I think nothing about them!"

Seriously, this little boy needs to be carted off to the same prison where Maury sends the teen boys that are abusing their girlfriends. I think this kid got such attention the first time he did this foolishness that he tries something about every six months. Boy stop...

I guess Clifford set it straight...

The "other" mother of a couple of TI's chiren claimed that she only got $2,000 a month in child support and that she needed more. The statement issued by Clifford shows that not only is he giving this broad 2 G's a month, he gave her a down payment for a house, brought her a car AND takes care of the kids' private school, birthdays, food, afterschool activities, insurance, etc. I guess the correct terminology here would be she was "put on blast". If she had just kept her mouth shut and rolled with the program, then everything would have been gravy. But she got greedy and she got blasted...

"A lot of deceiving information has been reported regarding my recent child support proceeding.

It is unfortunate that the media has been used to manipulate the circumstances and distort the facts. Those that know me, all know that there is nothing more important to me than my children. I have always supported all of my children financially, emotionally, and spiritually. This has always been the case and I will continue to do so in the future as this is my responsibility as a parent.

To clarify the recent reports, in addition to the $2000 per month I pay in cash to Lashon Dixon, the mother of my sons Domani and Messiah, I also pay for their private schooling, medical insurance, clothing, food, gifts, birthdays and extracurricular activities. Their extra-curricular activities have included football, basketball, baseball, acting lessons, summer camp, and any other activities that they express a desire to be involved in that will contribute to them leading balanced lives and developing into well rounded individuals.

I have also made an attempt to help Lashon with additional payments that have included a down payment to purchase her home, purchase of an automobile for her transportation and other financial obligations. These expenses are documented and are far in excess of the $2000 cash payment that is being paid direct to Lashon. She has chosen not to work and to live 100% from her child support receipts. This is the reason for her difficulties in making ends meet for herself. Not only do I support my boys 100% financially, I am also committed to their emotional and spiritual growth.

While I would enjoy the luxury of being present for all of my children’s activities, unfortunately the demands of my career and the need to secure my family’s financial security as well as insuring my kid’s personal growth dictates that I travel constantly and work tirelessly. Despite my hectic schedule, I make it a priority to be present for important occasions in their lives. This includes being home for their birthdays, school functions and being present at as many of their extra-curricular activities as I am able. I also am available to them at all times to provide guidance and support as a father regardless of my schedule or location. They are my first priority. Again, there is nothing more important to me than my children.

This is demonstrated by my effort to support them in every way that I can. Any reasonable person knowing the facts would conclude that all of my children’s needs are being far exceeded. My support of them in every way is documented and cannot be legitimately challenged. I believe that it is every parent’s responsibility to provide unconditional love and support for their kids. I have made every attempt to do so for my boys. Again, I provide 100% of their financial support. I should only be judged for my actions and not Lashon’s conscience decision not to work and not to contribute to the financial support of our boys."

Jennifer Hudson is engaged to PUNK from I Love New York???

What is the world coming to? She was just dating her long time boyfriend a year ago. Less than a year ago Punk was on TV letting New York lick whipped cream off of his chect. Yuck. She needs to check old boy cause I don;t think she wants to have a Terry McMillan moment and Punk (real name David) looks like he is capable of providing a couple of those...

Sorry for the lack of updates...

The Friday after my last post, I caught this cold/flu that is going around and I am just now getting to the point where I am not falling asleep every night. Updates should get back on the regular.

The Steve Harvey Show...

I've always enjoyed this show and the sarcastic wit that is so aptly displayed. But I watched an episode this morning and heard a couple of things that had me 1) crying everytime I think about it and 2) calling people to tell them what was said.

Example 1 - Laveta said that Steve was as country as a sugar sandwhich

Example 2 - Laveta showed up for a class, Steve asked her what she was doing there, the advanced food stamp fraud class was up the hall..

And I'm done...

Continue to R.I.P, Baby Girl...

It's been seven years today since the plane carrying singer Aaliyah and members of her crew went down. Still very sad. I remember it is always the weekend of my husband's family reunion. That Saturday is when they died. My husband and some of his cousins from out of town went to a club and they announced it at the club. He said people did not really believe it. We got up the next morning and he told me that Aaliyah had died, it was announced at the club. I told him I didn't believe him and then I turned to page 6 in the paper and there it was. May everyone who lost their life that day continue to rest in peace...

Apollo Creed Ackin the a** in Rocky IV

In my attempts to try put my office in order, I look to work in the office and put a movie in the computer and listen/watch as I am doing my thing. My movie choice for tonight...Rocky IV. You know, the one with Drago and ***spoiler alert*** Apollo dies. Is it just me or is the scene when James Brown is performing "Living in America" one of the most hilarious things you have ever scene? Apollo jumping around like he has lost his mind, the big Russian looking like "what is wrong with this negro" and James Brown in a vest and a pair of nuthuggers. Also, is Apollo the only one who thinks this is an exhibition? Is he not noticing the looks on the faces of Rocky and his other trainer? They are both looking at Drago like "I don't think that brotha's playin'...".

I love the Rocky movies and my husband got me the boxed set of five for Christmas a couple of years ago. Next up - The boxed sets for Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and Sex and the City.

Now, back to the movie...oh yeah, and cleaning the office. Smooches!

So there was a funeral for Isaac Hayes...

From Rhymes with Snitch...

First of all, Isaac Hayes had two funerals. There was the one on Monday that was open to the public and a private one on Sunday that was organized by the Scientologists.

The Sunday one was filled to the brim with celebrities including Isaac's fellow scientologists Doug E. Fresh, Chick Corea, Tom Cruise, Anne Archer and Kelly Preston, as well as his non-Scientology celeb pals Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, Bootsy Collins, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Sam Moore, Aretha Franklin, Chuck D, Maurice White, John Singleton, Richard Roundtree, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson any many others.

Anyway, folks are whispering about how weird the Scientology funeral was because they barely mentioned his music, no one sang any of his songs and they didn't talk about his film or television career. They say the whole memorial, if you could call it that, was mostly his Scientology pals talking about themselves while being filmed by Scientology leaders.

Also, according to witnesses, the Scientology speakers and performers — there were seven in all — made little reference to Hayes’ 11 grown children, just to his wife of three years and their 2-year-old son. The snubs were so blatant, Isaac's oldest daughter Veronica, who didn’t get to speak until nearly two and a half hours had passed, felt the need to declare, "Just to clear it up, there are 11 children." Isaac's family members are also upset because he was not buried next to his grandmother, but instead buried in what they referred to as "the white cemetery."

Sho'nuff has gone on to glory...

Character actor Julius Carry died Aug. 19 in Los Angeles of pancreatic cancer. He was 56.Carry appeared in more than 100 guest roles including “Hill Street Blues,” “Jag,” “Spin City” and “Moesha.”

He also appeared as the villain Sho’nuff in the cult pic “The Last Dragon.” Other feature credits included “The New Guy,” “Moving,” “World Gone Wild,” “The Man With The Red Shoe” and “The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh.” Born in Chicago, his first screen credit was in “Disco Godfather.” Carry is survived by his wife Naomi.

The Last Dragon has to be one of the cheesiest movies and I watch it every time it is on BET/TVOne.

Wow, I didn't see this one coming...

Shawntae “Da Brat” Harris, 34, was sentenced to 3 years in prison Friday, as a result of hitting and slashing a women in the face with a bottle of rum last Halloween. TMZ is reporting that Da Brat will also receive 7 years probation.

About six members of Harris’ family wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody. “I love y’all,” Da Brat said as she was led out of the courtroom. “We love you, too,” the relatives replied in unison.

The incident happened at a Halloween party at Studio 72 nightclub (owned by Jermaine Dupri) last year. The rapper got into an altercation with the waitress and was said to have picked up a bottle of rum and smashed it into the women’s face. The victim was taken to the hospital with cuts to her face and above

Why in the hell are the King children fighting?

Everyone knows Dr. Martin Luther King and what he did for civil rights and the rights of all people, not just people of color. Coretta Scott King was his rock and it was my honor to stand out in the rain for hours for the opportunity to view her at Ebenezer Baptish Church when she passed away. So can SOMEONE please explain to me why their three surviving children (Yolanda died last year) are ackin' a fool? Martin and Bernice sued Dexter the other day and he returned the favor by suing them yesterday. Kids, please get together and work it out.

Where is the memorial stuff on Mr. Hayes?

Bernie Mac's memorial service was over the weekend. Why is it that you have not seen anything about Isaac? He had become a Scientologist, do they not do funerals?

Surprising NFL Trade...

The fineness that is Jason Taylor has been traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Washington Redskins. I know he had been saying that he wanted to be traded but did not think they would actually do it.

WHAT? Not again...

DMX was arrested at a Phoenix, Arizona mall this weekend.

His latest crime?

Identity theft!

The rapper has been arrested on a number of charges these past few months, from animal abuse to drug possession.

Summer Movies...

What movies have you seen so far this summer? There are several that I want to see but have not seen yet (Indiana Jones, Sex and the City, Hancock). I have seen three of the summer superhero blockbusters. Saw Ironman when it came out and I really enjoyed it. I thought Robert Downey Jr. as Ironman was a weird choice but he played the part very well. We saw the Hulk and it was good also. Again, interesting choice of Ed Norton as Bruce Banner. And last but not least, we saw The Dark Knight today, the day after it came out. It too was pretty good and the hotness that is Christian Bale is just ri-damn-diculous.

If you are a fan of the TV Show "In THe Heat of the Night"...

Is it just me or is Bubba just about the biggest, hottest red neck this side of Sparta? I was home during the morning last week and got to catch some episodes, one which prominently featured him and a lost love who came back to town and killed someone. Of course, Virgil and the Chief know she was guilty but Bubba was not having it. His outfit was a little tighter than what it needed to be, his persona was a little bit larger and probably more redneckish than it needed to be and his accent was probably thicker than what it needed to be. But that's OK. He was fine as a mug and gets the HWB Title for the week.

We normally don't talk sports up in this piece but I GOTTA say some about Brett Favre...

I am so sick and tired of him and his spoiled, stank attitude. You have the city of Green Bay in your hands. You are GB squared - Green Bay Golden Boy. You decide to retire. Then, all of a sudden you don't know if you want to retire and you contact the team to check on coming back. And it seems that you have gotten pissy because they did not crawl to you quick enough and you want to be released. Whatever, Brett. Whatever. Release his ass. And continue to ruin the once golden legacy that you had in Green Bay.

Wow...

From TMZ.com...

His dream was that one day his children would be judged by the content of their character.

Now, two of Martin Luther King, Jr's children say the character of one of their siblings sucks.

Bernice King and Martin Luther King III are suing Dexter King, alleging he took "substantial funds" from the Estate of Coretta Scott King and put them in his personal piggy bank for his own use. They're crying fraud. Bernice and Martin III have demanded a jury trial in Fulton County, Georgia. Coretta died in 2006. The Kings had four children. Yolanda died last year. So the three surviving kids are fighting over money. By the way, Bernice and Martin III are being repped by Johnny Cochran's law firm. The late J.C. was also one of the biggest civil rights forces in the U.S. of A.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present Jessie Jackson and his foolishness...

"Unaware that his microphone was on during a break for a Fox News program last Sunday, Jackson used a slang reference to wanting to cut off Obama's testicles. When he learned Wednesday that the Fox News program "The O'Reilly Factor" would air his comments that night, Jackson apologized for "hurtful and wrong" remarks."

Whatever, Jesse. Don't get mad cause Obama has gotten farther than you ever got with running for President...

Saturday, July 5, 2008

Have you seen the Obama cover? Oh my...

Ebony magazine has compiled its list of the 25 Coolest Brothers of All Time. 8 different covers accompany this collector’s issue including Barack Obama, Jay Z, Muhammad Ali, Marvin Gaye, Samuel L. Jackson, Prince, Billie Dee Williams and Denzel.

I haven't quite mastered the art of putting pictures on the blog but once I do, that cover is going up.

They say it comes in threes -

Found out yesterday that Bozo the Clown, politician Jesse Helms and Christina Applegate's (Kelly from Married with Children) boyfriend have all died in the past couple of days. Wow, as my mama likes to say, people are leaving here...

My Current Movie Obsession...

Four Brothers starring Mark Wahlburg, Tyrese Gibson, Andre Benjamin and Garrett Hudland.

When I tell you that I watch this movie just about everyday and refuse to get tired of it, it is an understatement. My husband is starting to wonder if something is wrong with me.

If you don't want to know what it is about, STOP NOW. Cause I'm getting ready to give a brief description:

Four adopted brothers come home for the funeral of their mother when it seems she is randomly killed in a convenience store robbery. Through their own rough detective work (pouring gas on a punk kid while holding a cigarette nearby to get him to talk, threatening to leave a man with a broken knee laying on the ground in a snowstorm) they find out that their mother was murdered and it ties in with a business deal that one of the brothers had but fell through because of a dirty politician with ties to the local "guy who is running the neighborhood that wanted a piece of the business deal."

It has plenty of action and drama, comedy and it is nice to see the brothers doing things that brothers do (playing hockey together, waiting to eat dinner and one of the brothers starts flinging those little yellow things that used to be in the middle of records at two of the other brothers.)

Sometimes when I watch a movie I try and think about who else could have been cast in a role that would have been better. So far, I haven't been able to come up with anyone for these roles. Mark Wahlburg plays Bobby Mercer, who I am not sure is the oldest but he is the leader of the pack. He's rough, rude and gives not a damn. Tyrese is his right hand man, Angel Mercer, down for whatever if Bobby says so but they get into it every once in a while. Dre plays the married with kids brother, Jeremiah, who is trying to do the right things and Garrett Hundland plays Jack Mercer, who you can tell idolizes Bobby.

SPOILER ALERT BELOW:

Now, one of the brothers dies toward the end of the movie and this leads to a climatic scene where one of the other brothers fights the guy that owns the neighborhood. As mentioned previously in one of my posts, the brother walking to tap that ass is ridiculously hot.

If you have Netflix, add Four Brothers to your list. You will not be disappointed.

HAPPY JULY 4th EVERYONE!!!

In addition to doing some work in the office before getting my barbeque/cocktail/relaxation on, going to make some changes to the blog. Hope you like them and I am sure that you will let me know if you don't..

Taking a page from WWTD...

In a previous entry I heralded two websites - averagebro and what would thembi do. Thembi did a piece about rednecks that she loves. Ridiculously funny and I agreed with the majority of her choices. (Paul Walker = yummy). I would like to do an abbreviated list (3) of three white guys that I find incredibly hot in three different movies..

1) Mark Wahlburg in "Four Brothers" - The scene where Victor Sweet is asking "Who's gonna do it, you Charlie?" when they are out in the snow and everyone looks up and sees a lone dark figure walking against a stark white blanket of snow and sky. Then there is a pan up from his feet to his face. Mark Wahlburg is already fine but the look on his face and his swagger as he is headed to whip Victor Sweet's ass is ridiculously hot.

2) Kevin Costner in "Open Range" - I love a good western. This movie is a great western. The combo of Kevin and Robert Duvall is incredible. The storyline is very good and the supporting characters make for a great movie. I don't know if it's Kevin's intensity or his chaps but he is the sexiest cowboy I have seen in a minute. He is truly of the "don't start none, won't be none" mindset and that combined with his look in this movie is again ridiculously hot.

And last but not least..

3) Sam Elliot in "Road House" - I know, the mere mention of this movie puts my black woman membership in jeopardy. But I LOVE THIS MOVIE. Patrick Swayze as Dalton moves from town to town as the cooler for the security staffs of various honky-tonk establishments. He forsees a problem with Brad Wesley and calls in his boy, Wade Garrett. In this movie, Sam Elliott is skinny, grungy, smelly looking and looks like a good wind will take him out. And despite all of this, he is the sexiest thing walking in the movie. Period, point blank. Plus he too can kick your ass.

Tell me your favorites, I would love to hear!

I feel like I can just take the previous entry and copy/paste...

DMX got arrested again yesterday. Don't have the exact details but I think he arrived in Phoenix yesterday and got the clank clank for outstanding warrants. This is just getting ridiculous. Isn't that three arrests in a week??

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Oh Earl....will somebody step up and PLEASE put this lost brother in a program?

Hell, I'm broke as a joke but I would put up the funds if I had it..

From tmz.com

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, DMX was busted as part of an undercover narcotics investigation. He approached an undercover Miami-Dade Police narcotics detective and requested to purchase "30 Powder & 15 Weed" -- street slang for cocaine and marijuana. X handed over $45 -- and was arrested.

X, real name Earl Simmons, was popped back on June 23 for driving without a valid driver's license ... and on May 9 on seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and four felony drug possession charges ... and May 7 on charges of racing on a highway, reckless driving, two counts of endangerment, three counts of criminal speed and driving on a suspended license.

Two EXCELLENT sites you may want to check out...

http://www.averagebro.com/

http://whatwouldthembido.blogspot.com/

I initially went to averagebro.com as a link from another site. It was love at first site. Then one day AB highlighted an article from What Would Thembi Do. Sarcasm is indeed my thing and they both have it down to a T. Check 'em out!!

Say It AIN'T So, Mike...

Gossips say Michael Jordan was outside The Kobe club in Miami waiting for his car when a kid walked up to him and gushed about what a great ball player Mike was and showed Mike that he was wearing Jordan sneakers and asked if he could take a picture of the b-ball legend. No such luck. They say Mike didn't even acknowledge the kid and got into his car without saying a word, leaving the kid, who was so mad he smashed his disposable camera on the ground, in tears.

THe lady that I names my first daughter after has gone on to glory...

Movie star and dancer, Cyd Charisse, passed away yesterday at the age of 86. Her publicist said she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after she suffered an apparent heart attack.

She was born Tula Ellice Finklea on March 8, 1921. She starred in such films as "Ziegfeld Follies," "Singin' in the Rain," "The Band Wagon," "Brigadoon" and "Silk Stockings." Band Wagon was always one of my favorites. You should definitely NetFlix it if you haven't seen it.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Tony Martin, and her 2 children.
Rest in peace, Cyd.....

KUDOS TO MY SIBLINGS!

My older sister, who is an AVON guru and one of the few people that I know who have actually worked with AVON and stuck with it, went to a big AVON event on Sunday and was presented with the "SPIRIT OF AVON" award. Congratulations to her and to her assembled team members. They owe alot of their success to my sister; she is a mentor, cheerleader, friend, hard worker and good hearted and she deserves everything that she receives.

My younger sister is on a plane headed to Nicaragua on a peace mission with Witness For Peace. They will leave there and venture to Venezuela, Columbia and Mexico. They will then go to New York for the rest of the conference and then to DC to try and lobby Congress for additional aide to these areas. She also just closed on her first house on Tuesday and appears today in the newspaper for the hometown that we grew up in.

My younger brother and his wife just joined the Three Girl Club with the birth of their third daughter two weeks ago. My family went to see her and the rest of his family over the weekend and like her older sisters, she is gorgeous and just a sweetie pie. My brother is also in the middle of starting a magazine that will cover alot of what is going on in the area that we live in (Decatur/Lithonia/Stone Mountain). It will cover a variety of timely topics and I am looking forward to the first issue in August.

As I re-read this post, it makes me realize how much I love my sisters and brother and what they mean to me and my family. All three are such great people and I am glad and thankful that they are related to me. I love you guys.

Geeks...

A legend passes away..

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Bo Diddley, a founding father of rock ‘n’ roll whose distinctive “shave and a haircut, two bits” rhythm and innovative guitar effects inspired legions of other musicians, died Monday after months of ill health. He was 79.

Diddley died of heart failure at his home in Archer, Fla., spokeswoman Susan Clary said. He had suffered a heart attack in August, three months after suffering a stroke while touring in Iowa. Doctors said the stroke affected his ability to speak, and he had returned to Florida to continue rehabilitation.

The legendary singer and performer, known for his homemade square guitar, dark glasses and black hat, was an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, had a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and received a lifetime achievement award in 1999 at the Grammy Awards. In recent years he also played for the elder President Bush and President Clinton.

Diddley appreciated the honors he received, “but it didn’t put no figures in my checkbook.”
“If you ain’t got no money, ain’t nobody calls you honey,” he quipped.

The name Bo Diddley came from other youngsters when he was growing up in Chicago, he said in a 1999 interview. “I don’t know where the kids got it, but the kids in grammar school gave me that name,” he said, adding that he liked it so it became his stage name. Other times, he gave somewhat differing stories on where he got the name. Some experts believe a possible source for the name is a one-string instrument used in traditional blues music called a diddley bow.

Have a Safe Memorial Day...

I know Memorial Day for most people usually means a day off from work, barbequing or going to the beach. But let's not forget the men and women who have served this country, some of who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that our lands stay free. I thanked my husband yesterday for serving his country. He was in the Army. I have a nephew (brother of the aforementioned graduating Courtney) who is a Marine and currently in Iraq. We keep him in our prayers and hope that he and the rest of the men and women make it home safely.

If you get out in them streets, be careful, don't drink and drive and it's back to work on Tuesday!

It's GRADUATION and HONORS DAY TIME!

Congratulations to two of my nieces, Courtney Singleton and Morgan Lloyd, who are graduating from high school this weekend. Whoo Hoo!

Also, have to give a HUGE congratulations to my three daughters. My oldest daughter started middle school this year and was chosen as "Eagle of the Year" in her class, while also earning Honor Roll and Math awards. My middle daughter is on the Honor Roll, received the Citizenship Award and Art Appreciation and read 100 books. Last but not least, my youngest daughter made Principals List for the year, Perfect Attendance for the year and read 25 books.

S, J, and K, mommy and daddy are so proud of all three of you. Continue to strive for excellence and you will achieve it. We love you!!

Remember the chunky 7 year old that took his grandmama's car for a ride last month?

Cause he wanted to do "hoodrat things"? I just read on C&D that he and the aforementioned grandmama were in WalMart yesterday and he told her he wanted some chicken wings, she told him no, he went and ordered them anyway and when she questioned him, he started beating on her.

Now, they have him in a hospital for mental evaluation. He does not need mental evaluation. He liked the attention that he got last month with the other foolishness and now he is just ackin' the fool. Nothing wrong with that boy that a "whip his ass evaluation" evaluation won't cure. That's all he needs.

NEW PERIODICAL - VISION MAGAZINE

There is a new magazine coming to the "A". - Vision Magazine will be filled with wonderful interviews, sports, business info, entertainment news, a teen section and wonderful advertisements for businesses working to get ahead. Holla at me if you want to get advertising information. The first issue will be published in August.

MediaTakeOut is reporting that rapper Nate Dogg has passed away...

Trying to find out more info. Although I read their site daily, don't particularly assume everything that is on there...

Boy, I bet she is hatin' the day she pulled the piece out...

From TMZ...

A judge has just sentenced Remy Ma to eight years in the slammer for shooting a woman outside a NYC nightclub. She had faced up to 25 years.

Remy, whose real name is Reminisce Smith, cried as she heard the sentence, claiming last summer's shooting was an "accident." Her lawyer says he'll appeal. Adding more ridiculousness to her drama, correction officers at Rikers Island say they called off Remy's weekend wedding at the jail after her fiance, rapper Papoose, tried to sneak in a handcuff key! He was kicked off the island and told he couldn't come back for six months. That's gonna hurt those conjugal visits!

Keep trying to act like you are a hard rapper and these judges will keep putting you behind bars...

Monday, May 12, 2008

At first I thought..."this can't be right"...

Then I remember the level of people that we are dealing with and realize that this is par for the course. Remy Ma, raptress who was convicted of shooting her friend over $3,000 is going to be sentenced later in the week and was scheduled to be married tomorrow (Tuesday the 13th) to rapper Papoose. Unfortunately, Einstein showed up at the jail with a handcuff key. He was swiftly booted out and told to "stay yo ass away" for six months.

I personally think he did it on purpose so he would not have to see her and this is his way of getting away from her. How else to explain the ridicufoolishness of trying to bring a handcuff key into jail? Is he really that stupid?

Nick Hogan sentenced to 8 months that began immediately..

He got some probation and suspended license, no alcohol and community service. I watched the live feed on TMZ on Friday and no reaction. He just stood there, they led him away and that was that. Wonder how he did his first weekend...

Ya'll know the drill when it comes to the holidays...

I have a gift basket business so been a little busy with Mother's Day. Will be back on track soon.

Happy Mother's Day to All of the Mothers out there!!

FHM 50 Sexiest Women List...

I just went and looked at the list. I am always curious as to where Halle Berry is going to be on these lists. Don't ask me why, I just am. Ms. Berry, who was pregnant and still the hottest thing on them streets, is NUMBER 33 on the list. Any sexy list that has Halle Berry at #33 is a bit skewed, especially when I saw some of the people that placed ahead of her. Keira or Kiera or whatever Knightly. Bony chick from Pirates of the Carribean. Kate Bosworth was number 32. Are you friggin' kiddin' me?? And when I saw Lindsey Lohan was number 15, there was no need for me to continue.

Officers acquitted in Sean Bell case..

The three cops who killed Sean Bell on his wedding day in a 50-bullet barrage were cleared of all charges Friday - sparking tears inside the courtroom and anger on the streets outside.

“The defendants are not guilty of all charges,” Queens Supreme Court Justice Arthur Cooperman declared. “The burden was on the people to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Each defendant was assumed to be innocent.” Cooperman said justification was used as a defense, he had to consider the “mindset of the defendants, not the victims. What the victims did, was more important to resolve the issues at hand than what was in their minds.”

Oliver, who fired 31 times and reloaded once, and Isnora, who fired 11 times, had been charged with manslaughter, felony assault and reckless endangerment. They faced up to 25 years in prison if convicted on all charges. Cooper, who fired four times, faced up to a year in jail if convicted of reckless endangerment. None of the detectives testified, although their grand jury testimony was read out loud at the trial. Sean Bell’s father, William, said he would call on the feds to try the cops for violating his son’s civil rights if they were acquitted.

Bell, a 23-year-old father of two, was killed on Nov. 25, 2006 near the Queens strip club where he’d just had his bachelor bash. His friends, Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield, were badly wounded when the cops opened fire on Bell’s car.

And oh yeah, Orlando Brown has been found.

Sounds like a publicity stunt to me and this will be the last thing I type about this "situation". To quote my boy from Four Brothers - "This is suspect as a muthaf*cker..."

Damn, Blade...

Wesley Snipes sentenced to three years in jail. Wow!

Orlando Brown missing?

I've been reading online all day that Orlando Brown, Eddie from That's So Raven, has been missing since yesterday morning when he left a residence to walk to a convenience store. I just read the comments on sandrarose.com and two of the comments say that Orlando just called into the Wendy Williams Experience and that he is fine AND HAS AN ALBUM COMING OUT. Also, he is apparently managed by Ricky Romance, the same clown who is Raz B's brother and mixed up in the Raz B is missing mess a couple of months ago. Two different people who deal with you and there are rumblings out there that they were missing.

A grown ass man should not be going by the name Ricky Romance and would you really trust someone with that name? Suspect as a mug...

She has finally told him to kick rocks...

TMZ is reporting that Star has filed for divorce...

Former "View" host Star Jones filed for divorce from her husband Al Reynolds, "Entertainment Tonight" is reporting. Jones filed back on March 26. The couple married back in 2004. She released a statement that reads: "Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."

A renewed sense in mankind...

I had car trouble this afternoon. My car started smoking and I pulled over in the parking lot at North Dekalb Mall. A gentleman immediately pulled over and helped me by telling me what needed to be done for getting me home. I appreciated his help and gave him my card. "If you need a gift basket, give me a call". I went to the Quiktrip next door, got some water, poured into the antofreeze opening and gave it a few minutes. I got out to put in some more water and another gentleman came over, saw the problem and fixed it. As he was helping me, another gentleman and his son came over to see if I needed assistance. I am now safe at home and my husband is going to go out later and get the part to fix the car.

Lee, THANK YOU for stopping to help me and LeBaron, THANK YOU for stopping to help me and for fixing the problem. And to the gentleman with your sone who stopped, THANK YOU for stopping. I appreciated it very much and ALL of you have renewed my faith in mankind.

Still no direct confirmation that they got married yet...

But TMZ is doing the play by play of what is goings on at Jay Z's apartment. I think the only wedding that would be getting more attention than this is if Angelina Jolie and Bradley Pitt got hitched. TMZ states that they do not believe it for a minute yet they have a NFL worthy breakdown of the happenings. Some sites are suggesting that this may be an elaborate stunt for that Ashton Kutcher television show where he tricks the paps. If so, ALOT of people are in on the joke. TMZ is reporting that Mama and Papa Knowles are there, Solange, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Patrow. We'll keep our eyes glued to the sites to see what is going on.

CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE, DR. KING.

Are Bey and Jay getting hitched today?

Word on them streets is Beyonce and Jay-Z are getting married today, wearing Ivory is a must and Kelly & Michelle have made a youtube video coyly mentioning they are in a secret location. Not to mention a marriage license was taken out earlier this week.

Is this a drawn out April Fools joke or will they really jump that broom? Time will tell..

The first step should be old-fashioned ASS-WHOOPINGS..

A group of third-graders plotted to attack their teacher, bringing a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape and other items for the job and assigning children tasks including covering the windows and cleaning up afterward, police said Tuesday.

The plot by as many as nine boys and girls at Center Elementary School in south Georgia was a serious threat, Waycross Police Chief Tony Tanner said.”We did not hear anybody say they intended to kill her, but could they have accidentally killed her? Absolutely,” Tanner said. “We feel like if they weren’t interrupted, there would have been an attempt. Would they have been successful? We don’t know.”The children, ages 8 and 9, were apparently mad at the teacher because she had scolded one of them for standing on a chair, Tanner said. A prosecutor said they are too young to be charged with a crime under Georgia law.

School officials alerted police Friday after a pupil tipped off a teacher that a girl had brought a weapon to school, Tanner said.

Police seized a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape, electrical and transparent tape, ribbons and a crystal paperweight from the students, who apparently intended to use them against the teacher, Tanner said.

I have daughters that are 12, 10 and about to be 8 and the day I get a call from someone telling me that my daughter is in the principal's office for trying to kill a teacher...I can't even imagine. And I don't think these kids were kidding, either. A bunch of serial killers in the making..

Sean Levert died??

My husband just called to ask me if I had heard about Sean Levert dying. It was a busy weekend and yesterday was the big birthday (whoo whoo) and I stayed on the couch. Did not get on the net. I just read a couple of articles that said he died this morning around midnight. Still checking and will get back ..

Wow...just wow...

According to a crazazy report by the New York Post, most of the Jackson clan isn't fairing too well financially -- some of the Jackson boys are even still living at home! Check out a rundown of the current state of events.

Michael is on the verge of losing Neverland ranch as well as the family's Encino, Calif., home. He is currently hiding out in Las Vegas.
Marlon stocks shelves at a Vons supermarket in San Diego, and had to temporarily move into an extended-stay hotel with his wife.

Tito formed a band and plays at small gigs for $500 to $1,500.

Randy does odd jobs for income. He acted as Michael's business manager during the 2005 molestation trial, but ran into problems with friends after he persuaded three people to take out lines of credits against their homes to help Michael pay his attorney fees and Michael stiffed them!

Jackie had a failed Internet clothing business and tries to produce. He still lives at home with his parents.

Jermaine splits time between the parents home and his girlfriend's home. He has more than $5 million in federal, state and other liens against him and a 1995 bankruptcy filing. He does not work and is still involved in a messy, protracted divorce.

Janet is the current breadwinner of the family. She bought her mom a Vegas home in anticipation of losing the family's mansion to foreclosure.

La Toya is all but shunned from the family for declaring Michael guilty during the 1993 molestation case. She earns a living mostly in Europe judging beauty and singing contests. She lives with a wealthy boyfriend in Beverly Hills and has little contact with her siblings.

Rebbie married successful businessman Nathaniel Brown.Daddy

Joe still thinks the Jackson family can get it together, saying, "We can get back out there and set the world on fire. If the Rolling Stones can still rake in the money, so too can my boys." Riiiiight

Perhaps if they had not made fun of Janet about her weight when she was a little girl then she would help them out. But maybe any money she would give them would be thrown away. Another case of celebrities with $$$ not thinking past the concerts and the celebrity and fame.

Ivan Dixon from Hogan's Heroes has died

Unless you are at least 35, you are probably not going to know who I am talking about. He played Kinch, the lone black prisoner of war on Hogan's Heroes. He was also the older voice of reason car washer in Car Wash. Really liked him as an actor. R.I.P sir.

John Ritter's doctors are off the hook...

I loved John Ritter as Jack Tripper on Three's Company. He was hilarious and always seemed like he was in a great mood. Well, he passed away a few years ago and his wife, Amy Yasbeck, sued the doctors that treated him for malpractice. Well, TMZ is reporting that the doctors were not liable because they had told him that he had a problem and needed to get it checked. He didn't and that's what brought on his demise. If your doctor tells you to get something checked out, GET IT CHECKED OUT.

Word on the street is Juvenile did not go to his daughter's funeral on Saturday..

I am in Atlanta and a couple of weeks ago, a 17 year old boy killed his mom and two sisters. Come to find out the youngest little girl was 4 years and old rapper Juvenile was the little girl's daddy. I remember reading a few years ago that the mom had to take him to court for child support. I don't know the story about why he did not show up, different people grieve in different ways. But I also hear that he performed at a concert on Saturday. ??????. I have a friend that used to work at a local Target and she said him and his wife would come to their store in a Bentley. Is that really necessary? Unless you are going to the Bentley dealership for maintenance or out for a special occasion, I think your sedan would be fine.

For those of you that still watch "Girlfriends", it was dumped today.

From ahotmess.com

We hear from a source within the “Girlfriends” writing camp that the CW has decided to cancel the series immediately instead of bringing it back for a ninth season.

While no official announcement had been made as of press time, we were told the CW will not even film this season’s remaining nine episodes that were suspended during the writer’s strike.

Ironically, news of the show’s cancellation comes just as the strike has ended and the writing staff was preparing to return to work. We were informed by one of the writers yesterday that Monday night’s one-hour block of new episodes served as the show’s last.

“Girlfriends” became the longest-running live-action comedy series currently on network television with the debut of its current season in October 2007. The writers strikeBroadway-Strike-1919 Oct-07 suspended production after only 13 of 22 ordered episodes were completed.

The series, created by Mara Brock-Akil, was consistently the No. 1 show in black households since its Sept. 11, 2000 debut. Original cast members Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White and Jill Marie Jones starred as a group of close friends dealing with life and love in Los Angeles. Jones left the series in at the end of Season 6. (Source)

I didn't like the show after Toni left. Storylines became weird and just was not the same. Some sites are listing the names & numbers of key people to contact to protest but this is pretty much a done deal after tonight.

Did you check out the Grammy's last night?

Me neither and so glad that it was not three wasted hours. My husband is watching it now on the DVR and it appeared to be the hottest of messes. Somebody please keep Aretha Franklin outta that yellow mess that I just saw her in for some event in December. All you have to do is see the fashion pics to know that the show sucked.

Yet another "Jena Six" guy got in trouble AGAIN...

A defendant in the Louisiana "Jena Six" case was arrested after allegedly slamming a student's head into a bench at his new school in Texas, police said. The defendant, Bryant R. Purvis, 19, was arrested on a charge of assault causing bodily injury Wednesday after an altercation at Hebron High School. It began because Purvis believed a student had flattened his tires, Sgt. John Singleton said. Purvis was released from jail Thursday morning. According to a police report, the student felt Purvis come behind him and "grab his neck with one hand and begin to choke him." Purvis then said, "Don't you ever mess with my car again" and slammed the student's head into the bench of a table and walked away, the report said. The student's left eye was injured, but Singleton didn't know whether he needed medical attention after seeing the school nurse.

And yes, this is one of the guys that showed up at the BET Awards and was partying it up like he was a rock star...

Barack projected to have more delegates than Hillary..

From bossip.com..

In a surprise twist after a chaotic Super Tuesday, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) passed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) in network tallies of the number of delegates the candidates racked up last night.

The Obama camp now projects topping Clinton by 13 delegates, 847 to 834. NBC News, which is projecting delegates based on the Democratic Party’s complex formula, figures Obama will wind up with 840 to 849 delegates, versus 829 to 838 for Clinton.

Campaign Manager David Plouffe said: “By winning a majority of delegates and a majority of the states, Barack Obama won an important Super Tuesday victory over Sen. Clinton in the closest thing we have to a national primary. From Colorado and Utah in the West to Georgia and Alabama in the South to Sen. Clinton’s backyard in Connecticut, Obama showed that he can win the support of Americans of every race, gender and political party in every region of the country. That’s why he’s on track to win Democratic nomination, and that’s why he’s the best candidate to defeat John McCain in November.”

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why Missy Elliott did her latest video in 3-D??

I turned on the TV the other day when the video was on and I started seeing spots and my eyes rolled back in my head. I had my husband to check and make sure I was OK, then I read online that she did it in 3-D. As in Dumb...Dumb...Dumb. Did anyone think before doing this? Are we, the public, expected to go out and BUY a pair of 3-D glasses just to look at her video? Not bloody likely...

VOTE TOMORROW!

If you like in a state that has their primary tomorrow, please take a few minutes to vote. I am in Georgia and we could vote last week, which I did and I am so glad that I knocked it out. SO VOTE TOMORROW! Let your voice be heard...

And speakin' of Fiddy..

Have you peeked his new teeth? Maybe I am just used to his rabbit look but something just does not look natural about them. Too perfect when you know a month ago he looked like he could make his way thru a fence...

I cannot stop laughing at this...

From D-Listed...

Paris Hilton hosted a pre-Super Bowl party for 944 magazine last night in Phoenix. 50 Cent performed but wasn't feeling the Paris skank. During his set, he gave her a shout out. Dumb skank thought that meant she could share the stage with him. PageSix.com reports that Paris started dancing near the stage and then got up there to dance with 50. He quickly told her, "Get the fuck off the stage!"

Paris got off the stage and started crying. Whore tears. She told the party's producers that it was her party and that she wanted to dance.

50 deserves a medal for putting that whore in check. He probably doesn't like the fact that Paris throws the n-word around whenever she wants.

SUPER BOWL WEEKEND!

Who are you going for?

That's a damn shame...

A woman accused of leaving eight children with little food and no money while she traveled to Africa to marry a man she met on the Internet has been arrested.

Shanell Monique Mosley, 33, was met by authorities as she got off an Air France jet Monday at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and charged with child endangerment and child abandonment for leaving the children in squalid conditions

When she left for Nigeria on December 31, Mosley told her 15 year-old daughter she would return in a month. Mosley’s children are ages 1, 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16, Jordan said. The other two children found in the home were 3 and 4 year-olds the family cared for on behalf of a single father who worked, Jordan said.

The 9 year-old son told authorities he and the baby ate a still-frozen pizza for breakfast the morning they were discovered home alone. There were no diapers, baby food or formula for the infant, no sheets on beds and fruit was rotting in a basket.

Britney got carted off to the psych ward again...

And that weirdo that has put himself in her life - Sam Lufti - is apparently clashing with her mom and pop about her care. Who is this guy and why and how did he get so far into her business? I guess her papparazzi boyfriend Adnan is having other issues that he is dealing with (possible deportation, a first wife that he neglected to divorce before he got married to his current wife that he may divorce, etc.). They should have kept her in the hospital earlier this month when she was having her issues. Just too much...

Forgot to brag on my oldest daughter yesterday...

My 12 year old's honors day program was yesterday. Out of 367 6th graders, only three made straight A's first semester and she was one of the three! Whoo Whoo! Congrats, baby, you are doing an excellent job. And let's not forget her sisters, who also made straight A's first semester. Keep doing the d*** thing so we can wrap up some scholarship $$$. As my husband's sister said - "I told me children I can't afford dumb kids...no money for tutors or college for you need to get it right the first time." That cracks me up...

The "Whatever, Lady" award goes to...

January 28, 2008

Dear Mayor Kilpatrick,

I would first like to thank you and the citizens of Detroit for the opportunity to have worked for the city that I love so much over the past six years.

Serving as Chief of Staff for the Kilpatrick administration since 2002 has been an honor and a privilege. I was born and raised in Detroit and my childhood goal was always to serve my city. I came back home after college to do just that. Serving our citizens and helping to transform Detroit into an even greater city is what I've been dedicated to everyday since January 2002.

As Chief of Staff, I managed key city departments in such areas as human services and labor relations as well as administering the day to day operations of the Mayor's office. I've served the administration and Detroit citizens with diligence, strength and perserverance and I hope that my efforts will one day show through above all else.In spite of this, however, I believe that it is clear I can no longer effectively carry out the duties of Chief of Staff.

Therefore, this letter serves as my resignation effective, February 8, 2008 to allow for an orderly transition of my duties with the new chief of staff. I painfully regret the devastation that the recent reports have caused to the citizens of Detroit, to my co workers, to the Mayor's family and to my family and friends. Again, I thank you and the citizens of Detroit for the opportunity to serve.

Sincerely,

Christine L. Beatty

Well, Christine, you brought this on yourself, along with Mayor Idiot. You CANNOT carry on an affair with a mrried man on the city's dime and no one find out about it. What a couple of dummies...

Tiger Woods...

OK, normally I don't pay very much attention to Mr. Woods. I do know that he claims he is not black, that he is americablasian or whatever that catchy word is that he came up with. I do know he is the number one rated player in the world. I know he has apocketful of money. I also know that he married some swedish model and they recently had a daughter.

Here is something else that I definitely know about Mr. Woods. He has once again shown that he is a disgrace. He has the opportunity to get messages out to millions of people. A newscaster friend of his, in her own joking way, pretty much stated that any golfers on a tour with Mr. Woods would need to lynch him to get him out of the way. She was suspended for two weeks and is now back on the air. Some golf magazine had a picture of a noose on the front cover and the editor of the mag was fired.

From what I understand, Mr. Woods has been asked a couple of times to comment. He comment amount to "I have a charity that focuses on kids, that is how I do my part." He has lost major respect from alot of people. I feel he had plenty of opportunities to address these issues and chose not to do so. Boo on you, Mr. Woods. Grow a pair and have a moment every once in a while to let em know...

Actor Heath Ledger found dead

From TMZ.com..

TMZ has learned that 2006 Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY.He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime, adding that prescription pills were found near his body.

According to NYPD a masseuse arrived at Ledger's apartment and was let in by a housekeeper. When Ledger didn't answer his bedroom door, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened it and found him unconscious. They attempted to wake him; when they couldn't, they called 911. We're told when paramedics responded, the actor was in full cardiac arrest.

They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now this is shocking...just like Brad Renfro's death last week was so out of the blue...

REMEMBERING DR. KING...

From Concrete Loop.I thought this summed it up very nicely...

Each year on the third Monday of January, schools, federal offices and the like across America remain closed as we celebrate the birth, the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It is a time for the nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought; a time to remember his fight for the freedom, equality and dignity of all races and peoples; a time to remember the message of change through nonviolence.

Although many people see this as “a day without homework” or “a day to hang out with friends,” it is so much more than that; it is the celebration of equality, the celebration of freedom, and the celebration of a truly inspiring individual.

One of my favorite older actresses has passed away..

Suzanne Pleshette, who played Emily, Bob NewHart's wife on the Bob Newhart Show, passed away yesterday. She had been married to Tom Poston, who was on Newhart, until he passed away last year.

One of my favorite cliffhanger episodes ever was the end of Newhart. For those of you not familiar, she played his wife on the Bob Newhart Show, she was not on Newhart but Bob Newhart played an innkeeper for a bed and breakfast in Vermont. One the series finale of Newhart, he wakes up next to Emily in bed (like they were still on the Bob Newhart show) and says that he had a weird dream - that he had been an innkeeper for a bed and breakfast in Vermont. She looks at him like he is crazy and tells him to go back to sleep. Classic ending...

Latest on Tracey & Eddie...

The few people who attended Eddie and Tracey's fake wedding in Bora Bora knew it wouldn't last because, "Eddie started yelling at Tracey in front of people. He did it on a few occasions, and it was very embarrassing." Even the weather didn't cooperate. They say there were gray skies and torrential rains for 3 days straight before the ceremony. Tracey told People magazine, "We ran to the beach and had just enough time to get married before the raindrops started falling again. It was simply perfect."

Say Huh, Say What....?

Tracey & Eddie have called it quits. I thought it would at least take 3 months before they decided to end this charade.

2 officers killed in Dekalb County this morning...

My thoughts have been with this all day. My prayers go out to these two gentlemen who were gunned down this morning at an apartment complex on Glenwood Road that I pass every day. My prayers go out to their families. One of the officers had FIVE children. The other officer was the father of 2 or 3 children. Can you imagine having to tell their wives at 12:30 this morning that their husband has been killed? I just watched the news conference on wsbtv.com. A reward has been offered of $20,000 and they are working on another $5,000. I'm sure someone will manage to bring forth some info once that extra $5,000 makes it into the pot. You know how people are.

My daughters school is locked down. I wonder what they are telling the kids, if they are telling them anything at all. I cannot wait to get home and see my daughters. It took my husband several tries to get out of our subdivision this morning. The streets were blocked. I cannot wait to get home and see him this evening.

One of the suspects may have been injured. Police found a blood trail. I hope he is laying somewhere bleeding until he bleeds out. No, actually I take that back. He needs to be held accountable for what he has done.

The officers were ambushed. Shot responding to a call. What a cowardly, spineless thing to do.

This is just a really sad story...

Actor Brad Renfro found dead in LA

Actor Brad Renfro was found dead in his home earlier today in Los Angeles. For those of you not familiar with him, he played the little boy that witnessed a murder in "The Client". Susan Sarandon played his attorney. Very good movie. He was only 25 years old but had a history of drug and legal problems. How sad...

I have no words...

Two men wheeled a dead man through the streets in an office chair to a check-cashing store and tried to cash his Social Security check before being arrested on fraud charges, police said.

David J. Dalaia and James O'Hare pushed Virgilio Cintron's body from the Manhattan apartment that O'Hare and Cintron shared to Pay-O-Matic, about a block away, spokesman Paul Browne said witnesses told police."The witnesses saw the two pushing the chair with Cintron flopping from side to side and the two individuals propping him up and keeping him from flopping from side to side," Browne said.

The men left Cintron's body outside the store, went inside and tried to cash his $355 check, Browne said. The store's clerk, who knew Cintron, asked the men where he was, and O'Hare told the clerk they would go and get him, Browne said.

A police detective who was having lunch at a restaurant next to the check-cashing store noticed a crowd forming around Cintron's body, and "it's immediately apparent to him that Cintron is dead," Browne said. The detective called uniformed New York Police Department officers at a nearby precinct. Emergency medical technicians arrived as O'Hare and Dalaia were preparing to wheel Cintron's body into the check-cashing store, Browne said.

Police arrested Dalaia and O'Hare there, he said.Cintron's body was taken to a hospital morgue. The medical examiner's office told police it appeared Cintron, 66, had died of natural causes within the previous 24 hours, Browne said."He was deceased in the apartment when he was removed by these two," Browne said.

"What a couple of idiots" does not seem harsh enough for these two...

TODAY IS MY 15TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!

Congratulations to me and my sweetie on 15 great years, 3 beautiful daughters and a desire and will to make great things happen in 2008. I've known my husband since I was 14 and I am 40 now and he still cracks me. (That's a key, gentleman. Make a woman laugh and that's 95% of the battle, you are just about in there.) I have a special dinner planned tonight and I cannot wait to fix it.

I love you, buddha. You're the father of my children, my homie and my friend and I look forward to many, many more years with you.

Vivica Sex Tape Scandal

OK...so have you peeped the tape that is going around the net that is reportedly of Vivica Fox offering oral refreshment to a gentleman (and I use that term way loosely) who had the wherewithall to tape it for good measure. I have seen the tape and although it does look like her, I don't think it is her. This person had a hairline and a bang and unless Aunt Viv picked up a new lacefront with a bang included, I don't think its her.

Britney Spears drama unfolded overnight...

Britney was scheduled to turn her kids with Kevin Federline back over to his bodyguards last night. (Why he has bodyguards is a whole 'nother subject..). She refused. Cops were called, got there, saw she was under the influence of something, took her away in an ambulance and put one of her kids in an ambulance, as he was also of some concern and they are doing a psyche evaluation of her. SOMEBODY strap her down so she can actually do some rehab and get well. She is at the end of a downward spiral that if no one finally stops, something really bad is going to happen.

What is goins on with this Raz B/Chris Stokes/Raz B brother mess?

I have not touched on the mess that went down on Christmas Eve with Raz B being taped saying that he was molested by Chris Stokes and how his a** hurt. That is really more than I wanted to know. Then Raz B's brother comes out with the same claims and says charges needs to be filed. Then Raz B issues a bootleg "nothing happened" video as I am sure a Chris Stokes "associate" stood off camera with a gun pointed at his head. Now, I check out the web this am and who in the hell do I see but these three coming out of Mr. Chow's last night and Raz B. proclaiming that they all ahve love for each other. WTF??? Last week you were complaining about being violated and now you are hanging out with the violator?? At a notorious papparazzi spot??? Where you know you are going to be photographed????

This is officially a bunch of ridicufoolishness….(new word for the '08)

Shoulda seen this one coming, R-rah...

From perezhilton.com:

R&B crooner Ne-Yo is suing R. Kelly. The lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles on Monday, December 31st, alleges that Ne-Yo was fired as an opening act from Kelly's tour a few months ago because he outshined the headliner and got a better response from the crowd.

Ne-Yo wants his money!

The singer claims that he was set to earn $785,000 for opening for Kelly at a minimum of 25 concerts.

A 2004 tour with R. Kelly and Jay-Z also ended in litigation.

Is this Karma? R. Kelley has managed to avoid this child molestation rap FOR FIVE YEARS and now he is getting ready to go to trail (if not delayed again) and he's is being sued by No-No and lost his longtime publicist over some ish. What goes around, comes around.

Good Luck With That....

Eddie Murphy celebrated New Year's Day by tying the knot with film producer Tracey Edmonds.

The pair exchanged vows Tuesday on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of a small group of family and friends, their representatives told People magazine.

A call to Murphy's publicist, Arnold Robinson, wasn't immediately returned early Wednesday.
Murphy and Edmonds began dating last fall and were engaged in July.

Murphy, 46, has five children from his marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005. He also has a daughter with Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown.

Edmonds, 40, has two sons from her 13-year marriage to singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. As head of Edmonds Entertainment Group Inc., she has produced the film and television series "Soul Food."

Murphy's film credits include "Dreamgirls," and the "Beverly Hills Cop," "The Nutty Professor," "Shrek" and "Dr. Doolittle" movies.

Eddie's shine has worn off a little for me since he refuses to acknowledge Melanie Brown's (Scary Spice) little girl. You had sex and you produced a baby. Don't care what problems you may have with the mama but you produced a baby TOGETHER. Don't act like the baby does not exist.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Things will start getting back to normal around this piece. If you are still off from work or school, enjoy yourself cause the traffic will start getting thick again in the next few days.
